A. Safety Precautions

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:

MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
- on the ECAM control panel (CP), push (in) the FUEL push icon switch
- make sure that the FUEL page is shown on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU).
- the center tank contains a minimum of 500 kg (1102 lb) and a maximum of 4800 kg (10582 lb)
- the left wing and the right wing tank inner-cells contain a minimum of 750 kg (1653 lb).
WARNING:
WHEN YOU OPERATE THE FUEL PUMPS DURING A MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, A MAINTENANCE PERSON MUST BE IN THE COCKPIT. THIS PERSON MUST STOP THE PUMPS WHEN THE LOW PRESSURE FAULT LIGHT(S) (ON PANEL 40VU) COME ON, TO PREVENT OPERATION OF THE PUMPS(S) WITHOUT FUEL ('DRY RUNNING'). OPERATION OF THE PUMPS WITHOUT FUEL CAN CAUSE A FIRE.

(2) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
