Reactivation of the Center Tank

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

1. Reason for the Job

NOTE: This reactivation task is not related to an AFM-CDL/MMEL item.

NOTE: This task is to be used to reactivate the center tank after deactivation (Ref. TASK 28-21-00-040-002).

A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-21-00-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Reactivation of the Center Tank

Refuel Valve 10QU - Electrical connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

Fuel Pump 37QA(38QA) - Electrical connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the center tank refuel valve 10QU.
(2) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the center tank pumps 37QA(38QA).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
(1) Do a test of the refuel valve 10QU as follows:
(a) Refuel or transfer fuel into the center tank as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(b) Make sure that:

the fuel quantity in the center tank increases correctly
there are no leaks from the refuel valve.

(2) Do an operational test of the center tank pumps 37QA(38QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-400-002).
(3) Do a leak test of the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-00-790-003).
(4) Make an entry in the aircraft technical log that the center tank has been reactivated.

(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barrier.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
