A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: YOU MUST OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR THE FUEL TANK. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES, THERE IS A RISK OF:
  • DEATH OR INJURY TO PERSONS
  • DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR OTHER EQUIPMENT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position:
  • For the left wing, below zone 540
  • For the right wing, below zone 640.
   (2) Remove the wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
  • For the left wing, remove access panel 540AB
  • For the right wing, remove access panel 640AB.
   (3) Get access to the suction valve through the applicable surge door:
  • For the left wing, open surge door 540BZ
  • For the right wing, open surge door 640BZ.
     (a) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) to hold the applicable surge door open.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position :
  • For the left wing, below zone 540
  • For the right wing, below zone 640.
   (2) Remove the wing access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
  • For the left wing, remove access panel 540AB
  • For the right wing, remove access panel 640AB.
   (3) Get access to the suction valve through the applicable surge door:
  • For the left wing, open surge door 540BZ
  • For the right wing, open surge door 640BZ.
     (a) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) to hold the applicable surge door open.
   (4) Remove the fuel pump strainers (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-54-000-002).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position:
  • For the left wing, below zone 540
  • For the right wing, below zone 640.
   (2) Remove the wing access panel:
   (3) Get access to the suction valve through applicable RIB2 access panels:

A. Check Suction Valves For Full and Free Movement
   (1) Manually move the clack valve in the suction valve through its full travel. The clack valve must move freely.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) and let surge door 540BZ ( 640BZ) close carefully.
   (3) Install the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
  • For the left wing, install access panel 540AB
  • For the right wing, install access panel 640AB.
Subtask 28-21-00-410-061-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the fuel pump strainers (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-54-400-002).
   (3) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) and let surge door 540BZ ( 640BZ) close carefully.
   (4) Install the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
  • For the left wing, install access panel 540AB
  • For the right wing, install access panel 640AB.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install RIB2 access panels:

   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
