B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at access door 822 of the avionics compartment.
   (2) Open access door 822 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) To get access to GFI devices 69QA and 70QA:
  • On panel 107VU, loosen the quick release fasteners and remove the cover.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-18-00-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Operational Check of Center-Tank Fuel-Pump GFI
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL pushbutton switch:
  • Make sure that the FUEL page shows on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU).
   (4) Make sure that the center tank contains a minimum of 500 kg (1102 lb) of fuel.
Do the test as follows:
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the cockpit, on overhead panel 40VU:
  • Release (out) the MODE SEL pushbutton switch.
  • Push (in) the CTR TK PUMP 1 and 2 pushbutton switches.
On overhead panel 40VU:
  • The MAN light of the pushbutton switch comes on.
  • The OFF lights of the pushbutton switches go off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The CTR TK PUMP 1 shows green in-line (pump in operation).
  • The CTR TK PUMP 2 shows green in-line (pump in operation).
2.In the avionics compartment, on panel 107VU, find the GFI devices:
  • 69QA
  • 70QA.

3.During the step that follows you must monitor the GFI trip/reset indicator button, when you push the related test button.

4.Push the test button on the GFI:
  • 69QA
  • 70QA.
On the related GFI, make sure that the trip/reset indicator button moves out to Tripped position.
On overhead panel 40VU:
  • The FAULT lights in the pushbutton switches come on.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The CTR TK PUMP 1 shows amber cross-line (pump abnormally off)
  • The CTR TK PUMP 2 shows amber cross-line (pump abnormally off).
5.In the cockpit, on overhead panel 40VU:
  • Release (out) the CTR TK PUMP 1 and 2 pushbutton switches.
  • Push (in) the MODE SEL pushbutton switch.
On overhead panel 40VU:
  • The OFF lights of the pushbutton switches come on.
  • The MAN light of the pushbutton switch goes off.
NOTE: The FAULT light of the MODE SEL pushbutton switch will come on if:
  • The left and right wing tanks have less than 5000 kg (11000 lb) of fuel
  • The center tank has more than 250 kg (600 lb) of fuel
  • On refuel/defuel control-panel 800VU, the refuel/defuel MODE SELECT switch is in the OFF position.
    In these conditions, the ECAM will show the message AUTO FEED FAULT and FUEL MODE SEL-MAN (you can ignore it).
6.On the GFI:
  • Push the trip/reset indicator until it is flush with GFI body.
On the GFI, the trip/reset indicator button is in reset position.
7.In the cockpit, on overhead panel 40VU:
  • Release (out) the MODE SEL pushbutton switch.
  • Push (in) the CTR TK PUMP 1 and 2 pushbutton switches.
On overhead panel 40VU:
  • The MAN light of the pushbutton switch comes on.
  • The OFF lights of the pushbutton switches go off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The CTR TK PUMP 1 shows green in-line (pump in operation).
  • The CTR TK PUMP 2 shows green in-line (pump in operation).
8.In the cockpit, on overhead panel 40VU:
  • Release (out) the CTR TK PUMP 1 and 2 pushbutton switches.
  • Push (in) the MODE SEL pushbutton switch.
On overhead panel 40VU:
  • The OFF lights of the pushbutton switches come on.
  • The MAN light of the pushbutton switch goes off.
NOTE: The FAULT light of the MODE SEL pushbutton switch will come on if:
  • The left and right wing tanks have less than 5000 kg (11000 lb) of fuel
  • The center tank has more than 250 kg (600 lb) of fuel
  • On refuel/defuel control-panel 800VU, the refuel/defuel MODE SELECT switch is in the OFF position.

   (5) During the above operational test, if GFI 69QA or 70QA does not operate correctly, do one of the steps that follow:

A. Close Access
   (1) On panel 107VU, install the cover and tighten the quick release fasteners.
   (2) Close access door 822 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
