     (a) Remove air conditioning-packs 10HM (11HM) from the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-41-000-001).
     (b) Remove pack flow-control-valves 8HB (11HB) from the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 21-51-51-000-001).
     (c) Remove ozone filter 100HM (101HM) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-51-41-000-001).
     (d) Remove the hot trim-air duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-20-00-010-001).
     (e) Remove the overheat detection loops A and B from the heat shields and from the APU bleed-air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-18-000-001).
     (f) Remove the APU bleed-air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-41-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-18-00-210-050-B
A. Detailed Inspection of Vapor Seal (Aircraft Fitted with a Center Tank)
   (1) Examine the vapor seal for tears, cracks, holes, scratches, deformation and wrinkled areas:
NOTE: Use a MIRROR - INSPECTION and a sufficient LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION for this inspection.
     (a) On the vapor seal, near to the heat shields above the Pack Flow-Control Valves:
1 Make sure that the vapor seal has no wrinkled areas.
     (b) If you find wrinkled areas on the vapor seal, replace the vapor seal membrane (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-400-001).
NOTE: No repair is permitted for this damage.
NOTE: It is permitted to use a new vapor seal with signs of wrinkles on the top surface. The wrinkles can occur because of the storage conditions.
     (c) If you find deformation on the vapor seal, replace the vapor seal membrane (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-400-001).
NOTE: No repair is permitted for this damage.
     (d) Examine the upper seal for cracks:
1 Do not remove the retainer during the inspection of the upper seal for cracks.
2 Do an inspection of the upper seal on the adjacent area of the retainer.
     (e) Examine the lower seal for cracks:
1 Do not remove the retainer during the inspection of the lower seal for cracks.
2 Do an inspection of the lower seal on the adjacent area of the retainer.
NOTE: Some cracks on the lower seal found between membrane and retainers are permitted. These parts will have to be replaced at the subsequent vapor seal installation.
NOTE: Cracks on the lower seal are out of the permitted tolerance if:
  • Segments across the full width of the lower vapor seal fall off.
This damage can cause the retainers to touch the vapor seal and can have an effect on all the vapor seal system.
   (2) If you find damage on the vapor seal or at the attachments, do the applicable repair procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-300-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 28-18-00-410-051-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) If necessary, install the components that follow:
     (a) Install the APU bleed-air ducts to the center-tank lower surface (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-41-400-001).
     (b) Install the overheat detection loops A and B on the heat shields and on the APU bleed-air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-18-400-001).
     (c) Install the hot trim-air duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-20-00-410-001).
     (d) Install ozone filters 100HM (101HM) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-51-41-400-001).
