A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the Fuel Safety Procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable zones 540(640) and 522(622).
(2) Remove the applicable wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002):

(a) FOR [70QM] (DRIVE SHAFT-TRANSFER VALVE, L FWD SPAR)
remove 540JB 540KB
(b) FOR [72QM] (DRIVE SHAFT-TRANSFER VALVE, R FWD SPAR)
remove 640JB 640KB.
(3) Remove the applicable leading-edge access-panels:

(a) FOR [70QM] (DRIVE SHAFT-TRANSFER VALVE, L FWD SPAR)
remove 522KB
(b) FOR [72QM] (DRIVE SHAFT-TRANSFER VALVE, R FWD SPAR)
remove 622KB.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-15-42-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Transfer Valve Drive
(1) Remove the applicable transfer valve actuator (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-15-51-000-001).
(2) Hold the transfer valve drive (12) and remove the applicable transfer valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-15-41-000-001).
(3) Remove the nuts (5) and pull away the actuator mounting (3) to remove the bonding strap (6). Remove and discard the O-ring seals (2).
(4) Remove the nut (4) and the screw (7), and disconnect the bonding strap (6). Remove the actuator mounting (3).
(5) Remove the bolts (11) and the transfer valve drive (12).
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring seals (9) and (10).
