A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-15-00-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
NOTE: This procedure also gives step(s) for the aircrafts with the ACT(s) installed. You can ignore the step(s) if it is not applicable for you.
   (1) Make sure that each wing contains a minimum fuel level of 1800 kg (3968.3 lb). Make sure that each wing tank outer cell is full of fuel. If required, refuel the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003) to get the minimum fuel level.
   (2) Make sure that the refuel panel door is open and the MODE SEL switch (on the panel 800VU) is in the REFUEL position.
   (3) Energize the ECAM system (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
   (5) On the ECAM System Display (SD), make sure that the FUEL page is shown.
   (6) On the ECAM SD FUEL page, make sure that the intercell transfer valves show closed.
   (7) Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST Menu Page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
   (8) When the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST Menu page comes into view, do this procedure:

NOTE: This procedure also gives step(s) for the aircrafts with the ACT(s) installed. You can ignore the step(s) if it is not applicable for you.

RESULT
1.Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker 3QP.
On the ECAM display unit (DU):
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the open position
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the intermediate (amber) position
  • the right-wing outer-cell fuel content decreases and the right-wing inner-cell fuel content increases.


2.Remove the safety-clip and tag and close the circuit breaker 3QP.
On the ECAM DU:
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the open to the closed position
  • the amber left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the intermediate to the closed (green) position
  • the fuel movement to the right-wing inner-cell stops.


3.Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker 4QP.
On the ECAM display unit (DU):
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the open position
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the intermediate (amber) position
  • the left-wing outer-cell fuel content decreases and the left-wing inner-cell fuel content increases.


4.Remove the safety-clip and tag and close the circuit breaker 4QP.
On the ECAM DU:
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the open to the closed position
  • the amber right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the intermediate to the closed (green) position
  • the fuel movement to the left-wing inner-cell stops.


5.Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker 2QP.
On the ECAM display unit (DU):
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the open position
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the intermediate (amber) position
  • the left-wing outer-cell fuel content decreases and the left-wing inner-cell fuel content increases.


6.Remove the safety-clip and tag and close the circuit breaker 2QP.
On the ECAM DU:
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the open to the closed position
  • the amber right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the intermediate to the closed (green) position
  • the fuel movement to the left-wing inner-cell stops.


7.Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker 1QP.
On the ECAM display unit (DU):
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the open position
  • the green left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the closed position to the intermediate (amber) position
  • the right-wing outer-cell fuel content decreases and the right-wing inner-cell fuel content increases.


8.Remove the safety-clip and tag and close the circuit breaker 1QP.
On the ECAM DU:
  • the green right-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the open to the closed position
  • the amber left-wing transfer-valve indicator moves from the intermediate to the closed (green) position
  • the fuel movement to the right-wing inner-cell stops.
9.Defuel each wing tank to keep a maximum fuel quantity of 500 kg (1100 lb) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

10.Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST Menu Page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
On the MCDU, make sure that the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST Menu page comes into view.
11.Push the line key adjacent to the FUEL indication.
  • the FUEL Main Menu first page comes into view.
12.On the MCDU control panel push the NEXT PAGE key.
  • the FUEL Main Menu second page comes into view.
13.Push the line key adjacent to the INPUT PARAMETER VALUES indication.

A. Aircraft Configuration
   (1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
   (2) Make sure that the MODE SEL switch (on the panel 800VU) is in the OFF and guarded position.
   (3) Make sure that the refuel/defuel panel door is closed.
   (4) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
