A. Safety Precautions
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedure when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

A. Removal of the Outer Valve
(1) Drain possible fluids from the outer valve (3) with the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN.
(2) Remove the outer valve (3) from the leak monitor (1).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2).
Subtask 28-13-44-420-051-A (1) Drain possible fluids from the outer valve (3) with the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN.
(2) Remove the outer valve (3) from the leak monitor (1).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2).
B. Installation of the Outer Valve
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) on the new AIPC 28-13-44-01-020 O-RING (2).
(5) Put the O-ring (2) in position on the outer valve (3).
(6) Install the outer valve (3) in the leak monitor (1).
(7) TORQUE the outer valve (3) to between 0.825 and 0.675 m.daN (73.01 and 59.73 lbf.in )

(1) Push and release the outer valve (3) with the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN.
(2) Examine the outer valve (3) and the leak monitor (1) for leaks.
(3) Make sure that the outer valve (3) is fully closed.
5. Close-up(1) Push and release the outer valve (3) with the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN.
(2) Examine the outer valve (3) and the leak monitor (1) for leaks.
