A. Installation of the Vapor Seal
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
  • the vapor-seal membranes,
  • the retainers,
  • the seals have no cracks.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (a) Inspect the lower seals bonded to the structure, and make sure that these seals have no cracks.
     (b) If you find cracks on the seals, replace the seals (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-300-001).
NOTE: If possible, do replace the seals with the rough side of the seal on the structure. The installation of the seals with the smooth side on the structure is permitted, if the surface of the seal is smooth on both sides.
   (4) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the edge of the RH vapor seal-membrane (46) where it joins the CTR vapor seal-membrane (35).
NOTE: Put the vapor seal in position and attach it temporarily to make the installation easier. Do not tighten all the screws, the studs and the nuts until all fittings are installed.
   (5) Install the RH Vapor Seal-Membrane:
     (a) Make sure that the lower fittings and seals (77) are in the correct position.
     (b) Put the RH vapor seal-membrane (46) in position on the lower surface of the center-tank.
