A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-12-45-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) . (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Drain the fuel from the applicable vent surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable access panel:

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable access panel:
- for the left wing, below 550CB
- for the right wing, below 650CB.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Drain the fuel from the applicable vent surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

4. Procedure(1) Drain the fuel from the applicable vent surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU PUT THE ACCESS PLATFORM IN POSITION, BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VORTEX GENERATOR.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable access panel: (a) For the left wing:

CAUTION:
YOU MUST REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ACCESS PANEL.
A. Removal of the Panel Assembly 550CB(650CB) NOTE: If you cannot remove the bolts (4) easily, use the 98A53003500000 REMOVAL TOOL OF PHILLIPS TORQUE or the 98A57304002000 EXTRACTION, MANHOLE BOLT.
(1) Remove the bolts (4) in the sequence X thru A. (2) Remove the access panel (3) together with the overpressure protector (1).
(3) Put a protective cover around the overpressure protector (1).
NOTE: Removal of the overpressure protector 46QM (47QM) is given in the (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-41-000-001).
