Installation of the Check Valve

MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
Subtask 28-12-44-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACT is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
(4) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment-door 826 is open.
(5) Make sure that the ACT manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
Subtask 28-12-44-860-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACT is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
(4) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment-door 826 is open.
(5) Make sure that the ACT manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable ACT is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
(4) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment-door 826 is open.
(5) For check valve 173QM1:
(a) Make sure that ACT2 has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
(b) Make sure that ACT1 manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(6) For check valve 173QM2:
(a) Make sure that ACT2 manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
Subtask 28-12-44-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable ACT is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
(4) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment-door 826 is open.
(5) For check valve 173QM1:
(a) Make sure that ACT2 has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001).
(b) Make sure that ACT1 manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(6) For check valve 173QM2:
(a) Make sure that ACT2 manhole cover has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
D. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation for the Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of Check Valve 173QM1
(1) Hold the clamp (2) on the end of the pipe (1) and install the check valve (3), with the flat face horizontal.
(2) Move the clamp (2) on to the check valve (3) and tighten the clamp (2).
Subtask 28-12-44-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Hold the clamp (2) on the end of the pipe (1) and install the check valve (3), with the flat face horizontal.
(2) Move the clamp (2) on to the check valve (3) and tighten the clamp (2).
C. Installation of Check Valves 173QM1 and 173QM2
(1) With the flat face horizontal, hold the clamp (2) on the end of the pipe (1) and install the check valve (3).
(2) Move the clamp (2) on to the check valve (3) and tighten the clamp (2).
5. Close-up(1) With the flat face horizontal, hold the clamp (2) on the end of the pipe (1) and install the check valve (3).
(2) Move the clamp (2) on to the check valve (3) and tighten the clamp (2).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install ACT1 manhole cover (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-001).
(3) Close aft cargo-compartment-door 826.

(3) Close aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable ACT manhole cover (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-001).
(3) If applicable, install ACT 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
Subtask 28-12-44-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable ACT manhole cover (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-400-001).
(3) If applicable, install ACT 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment-door 826.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

E. Removal of the Equipment
(1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
