(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Obey the safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

C. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and on Additional Center Tank (ACT) control panel 28VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.

E. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below aft cargo compartment door 826.
(2) Open aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(4) FOR [227QM1] (VALVE-FUEL DRAIN, ACT1)
(a) Remove the Additional Center Tank (ACT) AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(b) Remove the manhole cover from the rear wall of the ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-004), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(5) FOR [227QM2] (VALVE-FUEL DRAIN, ACT2)
(a) Remove the integrated impact wall from the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-49-000-002).
(b) Remove the manhole-cover from the rear wall of the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-004), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-37-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-12-44-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the ACT Fuel Drain-Valve
(1) Loosen the screw of the clamp (2) and move it along the pipe (1) away from the drain valve (3).
(2) Remove the drain valve (3) from the pipe (1) and remove the clamp (2).
(3) Put the CAP - BLANKING on all the open end of the pipe(s).
