A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panels:
(a) FOR [212QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, LEFT WING)
access panel 540RB and 550AB
(b) FOR [213QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, RIGHT WING)
access panels 640RB and 650AB.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [212QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, LEFT WING)
remove 540RB 550AB
(b) FOR [213QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, RIGHT WING)
remove 640RB 650AB.

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-12-43-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Float Vent Valve 212QM(213QM)
(1) Remove the bolt (4) and disconnect the end of the bonding strap (2).
(2) Remove the bolts (3) and the nuts (1).
(3) Remove the fuel vent valve (5) and discard the O-ring (6).

Subtask 28-12-43-020-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of Float Vent Valve 212QM (213QM)
(1) Remove the bolt (3) and disconnect the end of the bonding strap (4).
(2) Remove the nuts (5) and the bolts (2).
(3) Remove the float vent valve (1) and discard the O-ring (6).
