A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
     (a) FOR [16QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, L WING TK INR)
remove 540JB
     (b) FOR [17QM] (VALVE-FLOAT VENT, R WING TK INR)
remove 640JB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-12-43-020-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Vent Float-Valve 16QM(17QM)
   (1) Remove the bolt (3), the washer (4) and disconnect the end of the bonding strap (5).
   (2) Remove the bolts (6) and the nuts (2).
   (3) Remove the vent float-valve (1) and discard the O-ring (8).
   (4) Install the CAP - BLANKING in the open end of the adaptor (7).
