A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
     (a) FOR [102QM] (PROTECTOR-OVERPRESSURE, L WING TK)
remove the access panel 540JB and 540KB
     (b) FOR [103QM] (PROTECTOR-OVERPRESSURE, R WING TK)
remove the access panel 640JB and 640KB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-12-41-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection of the Overpressure Protector 102QM(103QM)
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO THE SAFETY DISC BECAUSE IT WILL EASILY BREAK.
   (1) Examine the overpressure protector (9) to make sure that:
  • there is no damage to the wire mesh (7)
  • there is no damage to the safety disc (8)
  • the sealant on the nuts (6) and the heads of the bolts (10) is in the correct condition
  • there is no damage to the wire mesh basket (11)
  • there is no corrosion.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002):
     (a) FOR [102QM] (PROTECTOR-OVERPRESSURE, L WING TK)
install the access panel 540JB and 540KB
     (b) FOR [103QM] (PROTECTOR-OVERPRESSURE, R WING TK)
install the access panel 640JB and 640KB.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
Subtask 28-12-41-942-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
