A. Safety Procedures

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Drain all the fuel from the vent surge tank through the water drain valve (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable access panel 550AB(650AB).
(2) Remove the NACA vent intake (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Water Drain Valve
(1) Remove the nuts (1) and the bolts (4).
(2) Remove the water drain valve (2).
(3) Remove and discard the O-rings (3) and (5).
