A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-11-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(2) On the ECAM control panel, push in the FUEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
(3) Refuel the outer cell to full (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
(4) Get access to the intercell transfer valve actuators:
(a) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable access panels:
(6) Remove the electrical connector (1) from the intercell-transfer-valve actuator (2)
(7) Defuel or transfer fuel from the applicable wing tank inner cell (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(9) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(11) Drain any fuel that remains from the wing-tank inner-cell and the vent surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(12) The wing-tank outer-cell must be full of fuel for a minimum of 30 minutes before the test.
Subtask 28-11-00-010-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(2) On the ECAM control panel, push in the FUEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
(3) Refuel the outer cell to full (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
(4) Get access to the intercell transfer valve actuators:
(a) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable access panels:
- for the left wing, below the access panels 522KB and 575DB
- for the right wing, below the access panels 622KB and 675DB.
- 522KB(622KB)
- 575DB(675DB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004).
(6) Remove the electrical connector (1) from the intercell-transfer-valve actuator (2)
(7) Defuel or transfer fuel from the applicable wing tank inner cell (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
NOTE: This will leave the outer cell full.
(8) On the intercell transfer valve actuator, make sure that the valve position indicator shows valve closed. (9) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(10) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(11) Drain any fuel that remains from the wing-tank inner-cell and the vent surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(12) The wing-tank outer-cell must be full of fuel for a minimum of 30 minutes before the test.
C. Get Access
(2) Extend the No. 3, 4 and 5 spoilers fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 575(675).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 522(622).
(5) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540JB(640JB).
(6) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable access panel 550AB(650AB).
(7) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(8) Remove the applicable leading edge access panel:
(9) Remove the applicable trailing edge access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004):
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008). (2) Extend the No. 3, 4 and 5 spoilers fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 575(675).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 522(622).
(5) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable access panel 540JB(640JB).
(6) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable access panel 550AB(650AB).
(7) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(8) Remove the applicable leading edge access panel:
(9) Remove the applicable trailing edge access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004):

A. Visual Inspection
(1) Look for signs of fuel leakage in these areas:
(b) Dry the area fully with a GROUND AIR-SUPPLY UNIT(LOW PRESSURE).
(c) Apply Testing Medium-Fuel Leak Detection White Powder - (Material No.14CDB1) to the area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT.
(d) Monitor the area for a change in color of the talcum powder. This will show the location of a fuel leak and the rate of the leakage.
Subtask 28-11-00-860-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Look for signs of fuel leakage in these areas:
- tank seals and sealant
- structure, brackets and clamps
- fuel pipelines, couplings, bonded items, brackets and clamps.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
- USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
- DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS.
CAUTION:
USE THE TALCUM POWDER PROCEDURE ONLY ON THE EXTERNAL SURFACES OF THE FUEL TANKS.
(a) Dry the area of the possible leak with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . (b) Dry the area fully with a GROUND AIR-SUPPLY UNIT(LOW PRESSURE).
(c) Apply Testing Medium-Fuel Leak Detection White Powder - (Material No.14CDB1) to the area with a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT.
(d) Monitor the area for a change in color of the talcum powder. This will show the location of a fuel leak and the rate of the leakage.
B. Preparation for Test
(1) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the related intercell-transfer-valve actuator (2).
(2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-400-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002):

A. Aircraft Configuration

(3) On the spoiler servo-control, make sure that the pointer on the hex. head is opposite the letter 'O' on the housing.
