A. Biocidal Preventative Treatment for Aircraft in Long-Term Storage - using Kathon Biocide with a Metered Injection Rig
CAUTION: DO NOT USE A LARGE QUANTITY OF KATHON BIOCIDE IN THE FUEL. MORE THAN 100 PPM IS NOT PERMITTED IN:
  • THE ENGINES
  • THE FUEL TANKS
  • THE FUEL UPLIFTED TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put Antimicrobial Agent-Fuel System Liquid Additive - (Material No.11KBB1) into:
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, LUBRIZOL FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE,FLIGHTLINE FUEL ADD.INC..
   (2) Make sure that:
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, LUBRIZOL FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE,FLIGHTLINE FUEL ADD.INC.
    is correctly electrically bonded.
   (3) Connect the output side of:
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, LUBRIZOL FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE,FLIGHTLINE FUEL ADD.INC.
    to the aircraft.
   (4) Connect the fuel tanker to the input side of:
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, LUBRIZOL FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE,FLIGHTLINE FUEL ADD.INC..
   (5) Refuel the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003) with fuel mixed with Antimicrobial Agent-Fuel System Liquid Additive - (Material No.11KBB1) at a concentration of 50 ppm (by volume).
   (6) Disconnect:
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES or
  • The METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, LUBRIZOL FUEL ADDITIVES or
