A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the fuel that remains, from the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position:

  • for the left wing, below zone 540
  • for the right wing, below zone 640.
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

   (3) Install the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the applicable forward surge door:

   (4) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the applicable aft surge door:

A. Check for Full and Free Movement of Clack Valves
   (1) Make sure that the clack valves at RIB2 operate freely and through their full movement.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) from the applicable aft access door 540BZ 640BZ.
   (3) Carefully close the fuel surge doors 540BZ (640BZ).
   (4) Remove the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) from the applicable forward access door 540AZ 640AZ.
   (5) Carefully close the fuel surge doors 540AZ (640AZ).
   (6) Install the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Refuel the aircraft as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).

   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
