A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in the fuel tanks.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing.
   (2) Remove the applicable fuel-tank access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-45-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001):

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing.
   (2) Remove the applicable fuel-tank access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-45-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-000-001):

A. Cleaning of the Fuel Tanks
   (1) Examine the fuel tanks for contamination and debris. Look specially in the areas that follow:
  • the lowest point of each tank
  • below each fuel quantity probe
  • the outboard side of each wing rib
  • outboard of each clack valve
  • on the strainer mesh of each fuel pump.
   (2) If necessary, use the most suitable method to remove the contamination and debris.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable fuel-tank access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-45-400-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-400-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-47-400-001):

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
