A. Repair of the Bonding Strip Attachment
(2) Measure the outside diameter of the fuel pipe at the point of the new bonding clip.
(3) Make a new bonding clip from 6061 aluminium alloy 0.56 mm (0.0220 in.) to 0.71 mm (0.0280 in.) thick.
(4) Carefully make the remaining part of the damaged bonding lug smooth. Be careful not to remove or damage the original weld.
(5) Clean the repaired surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , dry the surface with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Brush the repaired area with Primer Epoxy Paint-- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04DAB2) and let the paint dry.
(7) Remove the protective treatment from around the fuel pipe adjacent to the repair, use PAPER - ABRASIVE (GRADE 320). Do this where you can attach the new bonding clip.
(8) Use Laminate Repair Patch-Flexible membrane Fuel resistant - (Material No.13XGC1) to make the surface smooth where you removed the protective treatment.
(9) Clean the bonding clip with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry it with a clean lint-free cloth.
(10) Put the bonding clip in position, and install the bonding strip with the bolt and the nut (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802). Make sure that the new bonding clip is tight.
(11) Do a bonding check (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-006).
