Identification of the Side Stick Installed on the Aircraft
1. Reason for the Job
You can have two different side sticks installed on the aircraft:
- A side stick assembly or/and
- A new-generation side-stick unit.
This task is used to know which side stick is installed on the aircraft.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
(2) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

(2) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
B. Get access to the cockpit.

A. Identification of the Side Stick Installed on the Aircraft:
(1) On the CAPT and/or F/O side(s):
(a) Do a visual check of the side stick to see if it has:
(2) If the side stick has one of these characteristics:
(3) If the side stick does not have one of these characteristics:
5. Close-up(1) On the CAPT and/or F/O side(s):
(a) Do a visual check of the side stick to see if it has:
- A cross-head screw on the inboard side of the head of the control handle, and
- A "V" shape made around the takeover and priority pushbutton switch.
(2) If the side stick has one of these characteristics:
- A cross-head screw on the inboard side of the head of the control handle,
- A "V" shape made around the takeover and priority pushbutton switch,
- An identification plate installed below the base of the control handle (outboard side).
(3) If the side stick does not have one of these characteristics:
- A cross-head screw on the inboard side of the head of the control handle,
- A "V" shape made around the takeover and priority pushbutton switch,
- An identification plate installed below the base of the control handle.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
