To know if the side-stick installed on the aircraft is a new-generation side-stick unit, refer to the procedure (Ref. AMM 27-92-41-860-801).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 822.
   (2) Make sure that the access door 822 is open.
   (3) On the battery power center 105VU:
  • Make sure that the protective cover is removed.

   (1) Make sure that the cover panel is removed.

   (2) Make sure that 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (10) is installed.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) which tells persons not to operate the side-stick is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 27-92-41-210-056-A
A. Remove the protection from the side-stick opening and make sure that no unwanted materials went into the side-stick opening before you install the bellows (3).

A. Remove the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (10) and the warning notice from the side-stick.

B. Installation of the cover panel.

   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Put the cover (3) in position.
   (4) Install the washers (5), the washer (7), the screws (4) and the screw (6). Tighten the screws. Lock the catches (2).
   (5) Release the lock (8). Install the handle (1).

B. Installation of the cover of the panel.

   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Put the cover (3) in position.
   (4) Install the screws (2) and tighten them.
   (5) Install the washers (5), the washer (7), the screws (4) and the screw (6). Tighten the screws.
   (6) Install the handle (1) and the screws (8). Tighten the screws.

C. Install the Cursor Control Device (CCD) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-61-14-400-801).

   (1) Install the protective cover on the battery power center 105VU.
   (2) Tighten the two screws.
   (3) Close the access door 822.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
