Removal of the Control-Handle of the New-Generation Side Stick Unit (SSU)
NOTE: This task is applicable only for the new-generation side-stick unit. For the other side-stick assemblies, refer to the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-000-006). To know if the side-stick installed on the aircraft is a new-generation side-stick unit refer to the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-860-801).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 822.
(2) Open the access door 822.
(3) On the battery power center 105VU:

- Loosen the two screws and remove the protective cover.

A. Removal of the Control-Handle of the New-Generation Side-Stick Unit
(1) Remove and discard the collar-clamp (2) that attaches the bellows (3) to the control handle (1).
(2) Lower the top part of the bellows (3) to get access to the captive screws (5) and (6).
(3) Unfold the locktabs (4) and release the captive screws (5) and (6).
(4) Disconnect the control handle (1) and remove it.
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Put a protection in position to make sure that no unwanted materials can go into the bellows opening.
(1) Remove and discard the collar-clamp (2) that attaches the bellows (3) to the control handle (1).
(2) Lower the top part of the bellows (3) to get access to the captive screws (5) and (6).
(3) Unfold the locktabs (4) and release the captive screws (5) and (6).
(4) Disconnect the control handle (1) and remove it.
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Put a protection in position to make sure that no unwanted materials can go into the bellows opening.
