Removal of the New-Generation Side Stick Unit (SSU)
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SIDE-STICK UNIT STAYS IN VERTICAL POSITION DURING THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE.
THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMPER FLUID LEAKAGE WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE UNIT.
NOTE: This task is applicable only for the new-generation side-stick unit. For the other side-stick assemblies, refer to the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-000-001). To know if the side-stick installed on the aircraft is a new-generation side-stick unit, refer to the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-41-860-801).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 822.
(2) Open the access door 822.
(3) On the battery power center 105VU:

- Loosen the two screws and remove the protective cover.

E. Removal of the Cover Panel
(1) Release the lock (9) and remove the handle (1).
(2) Remove the screws (4), screw (8), screw (6), washers (5) and washer (7).
(3) Turn the fasteners (2) a quarter of a turn to loosen them and remove the cover (3).
Subtask 27-92-41-010-073-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Release the lock (9) and remove the handle (1).

E. Removal of the Cover Panel
(1) Remove the screws (9) and the handle (1).
(2) Remove the screws (4), screw (8), screw (6), washers (5) and washer (7).
(3) Turn the fasteners (2) a quarter of a turn to loosen them and remove the cover (3).
Subtask 27-92-41-480-059-A (1) Remove the screws (9) and the handle (1).

F. Installation of the Tools
(1) Install the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (10) on the central universal joint.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the side-stick to tell persons not to operate the side-stick.
4. Procedure(1) Install the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (10) on the central universal joint.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the side-stick to tell persons not to operate the side-stick.
Subtask 27-92-41-020-062-A
A. Removal of the New-Generation Side-Stick Unit
(1) Remove the screws (26) and the washers (25). Disengage the side-stick unit (11) from its support (12).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors (13), (14), (15), (22), (23) and (24).
(3) Remove the side-stick unit (11).
(4) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connectors (13), (14), (15), (16), (17), (18), (19), (20), (21), (22), (23) and (24).
(1) Remove the screws (26) and the washers (25). Disengage the side-stick unit (11) from its support (12).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors (13), (14), (15), (22), (23) and (24).
(3) Remove the side-stick unit (11).
(4) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connectors (13), (14), (15), (16), (17), (18), (19), (20), (21), (22), (23) and (24).
