Removal of the Tee Gearbox

A. Retraction of the Slats
   (1) Retract the slats to the 0 degree position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
   (2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002) on the slat/flap control lever.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Green and Blue hydraulic systems and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at access panel 191BB.
   (2) Remove access panel 191BB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).
   (3) Disconnect the V-clamp (3).
   (4) Disconnect the clamp (1).
   (5) Remove the bellows (2), clamp (1) and V-clamp (3).

E. Installation of the Torque Shaft Locks
   (1) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT to lock the left slat transmission (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
   (2) Install the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT to lock the right slat transmission (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
4. Procedure
Subtask 27-84-42-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Tee Gearbox
   (1) Disconnect torque shaft 6004CM (8) as follows:
     (a) Remove the unwanted corrosion preventive compound from the bolts (9) and the nuts (10) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the nuts (10) and the bolts (9) that connect the torque shaft (8) to the input universal joint (7) of the tee gearbox (12).
     (c) Disconnect the torque shaft (8) from the input universal joint (7).
   (2) Disconnect torque shaft 6006CM (4) as follows:
     (a) Remove the unwanted corrosion preventive compound from the bolts (17) and the nuts (16) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the nuts (16) and the bolts (17) that connect the torque shaft (4) to the left input universal-joint (5) of the tee gearbox (12).
     (c) Disconnect the torque shaft (4) from the left input universal-joint (5).
     (d) Remove the left input universal-joint (5) from the tee gearbox (12).
   (3) Remove the tee gearbox (12) as follows:
     (a) Remove the unwanted corrosion preventive compound from the bolts (14) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Hold the tee gearbox (12) to make sure that it does not fall.
     (c) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (15) that attach the tee gearbox (12) to the support bracket.
     (d) Carefully move the tee gearbox (12) away from the input universal joint (13) and remove the tee gearbox (12).
     (e) Put the retainer spring (11) temporarily in position on the shaft of the universal joint (7) and remove the pin (6).
     (f) Remove the input universal joint (7) from the tee gearbox (12).
     (g) Remove the retainer spring (11).
