Installation of the Solenoid Valve to the Slat Wing-Tip Brake (WTB)

MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
Subtask 27-81-51-860-057-A (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is in position below the applicable access panel.
(2) Make sure that the applicable access panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
(3) Make sure that the slats are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
(4) In the cockpit, on panel 114VU, make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(5) Make sure that the Blue and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(6) Make sure that the Blue and Green hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

(6) Make sure that the Blue and Green hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

Subtask 27-81-51-420-055-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Lubricate the new O-rings (2), (4), (6) and (7), and the back-up rings (3) and (5), with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(5) Remove the blanking plugs from the solenoid valve (1) and the interface of the wing tip brake.
(6) Apply a thin layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) at the interface of the solenoid valve (1) and the manifold.
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to all of the bolts and nuts.

B. Installation of the Solenoid Valve on the Slat Wing-Tip Brake
(1) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-040 O-RING (6) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-050 O-RING (7) on the solenoid valve (1).
(2) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-060 BACK-UP RING (5) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-080 O-RING (4) on the solenoid valve (1). Make sure that the curve on the face of the back-up ring (5) is against the O-ring (4).
(3) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-070 BACK-UP RING (3) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-090 O-RING (2) on the solenoid valve (1). Make sure that the curve on the face of the back-up ring (3) is against the O-ring (2).
(4) Install the solenoid valve (1) on the wing tip brake.
(6) TORQUE the screws (9) to between 0.27 and 0.25 m.daN (23.89 and 22.12 lbf.in )

Subtask 27-81-51-860-056-A (1) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-040 O-RING (6) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-050 O-RING (7) on the solenoid valve (1).
(2) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-060 BACK-UP RING (5) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-080 O-RING (4) on the solenoid valve (1). Make sure that the curve on the face of the back-up ring (5) is against the O-ring (4).
(3) Install the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-070 BACK-UP RING (3) and the new AIPC 27-81-51-01-090 O-RING (2) on the solenoid valve (1). Make sure that the curve on the face of the back-up ring (3) is against the O-ring (2).
(4) Install the solenoid valve (1) on the wing tip brake.
NOTE: Solenoid valves 903A0000-01 removed from the PCU valve block must not be installed on the wing tip brake.
(5) Install the screws (9). (6) TORQUE the screws (9) to between 0.27 and 0.25 m.daN (23.89 and 22.12 lbf.in )
. C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Fill the Blue and the Green hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) In the cockpit, on panel 114VU, remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 27-81-51-865-055-A (1) Fill the Blue and the Green hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) In the cockpit, on panel 114VU, remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Install the Safety Collar
(1) Install the safety collar on circuit breakers 9CV and 11CV.

F. Pressurize the Hydraulic Systems
Subtask 27-81-51-790-052-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Pressurize the Blue and the Green hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001). G. Test
(1) Examine the solenoid valve (1) and the interface of the solenoid valve (1) and the wing tip brake for leaks.
(2) Do an operational test of the slats wing-tip brake (Ref. AMM TASK 27-81-00-710-001).
(3) Do the leak check again.
5. Close-up(1) Examine the solenoid valve (1) and the interface of the solenoid valve (1) and the wing tip brake for leaks.
(2) Do an operational test of the slats wing-tip brake (Ref. AMM TASK 27-81-00-710-001).
(3) Do the leak check again.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Depressurize the Blue and the Green hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
