   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is/are in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the cockpit to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulics.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
     (a) Put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area.
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable spoiler servo control.
   (3) Make sure that the applicable spoiler has been extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (4) Make sure that the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is on the piston rod of the servo-control.
   (5) Make sure that the flaps have been extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (6) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed.
   (7) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic system is depressurized:
   (8) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the filter (2) is in the correct condition.
   (4) Lubricate a new AIPC 27-64-51-01-020 O-RING (1) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .

B. Installation of the Filter
   (1) Install the new O-ring (1) on the filter (2).
   (2) Remove the blanking plug from the spoiler servo-control.
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the filter with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (4) Install the filter (2) in the spoiler servo-control.
   (5) TORQUE the filter (2) to between 4.2 and 3.8 m.daN (30.97 and 28.02 lbf.ft ) T.

   (2) Do a minimum of ten full travel operations of the spoilers, to bleed all the air from the servo-controls (Ref. AMM TASK 27-64-00-710-001).

H. Leak Test
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable spoiler servo control.
   (2) Examine the servo control filter (2) for leaks.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (3) Safety the filter with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

I. Retract the Spoiler
   (1) Retract the applicable spoiler (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (2) On the servo-control, turn the 98D27603002000 KEY-SPOILER MAINTENANCE or the 98D27603002001 KEY-SPOILER MAINTENANCE in the maintenance device to the operation position and then remove it.

   (1) Do an operational test of the spoiler hydraulic actuation (Ref. AMM TASK 27-64-00-710-001).
