IF YOU REMOVE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES IN A CLOSED HANGAR, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A FLOW OF NEW AIR IN THE HANGAR.

C. Get Access
(1) For the location of this component, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 26-23-00-00).
(2) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the ON position.
(4) Remove the sidewall panel 132MW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).

(2) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the ON position.
(4) Remove the sidewall panel 132MW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).
C. Get Access
(1) For the location of this component, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 26-23-00-00).
(2) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON position.
(4) Remove the sidewall panel 132SW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).
4. Procedure(1) For the location of this component, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 26-23-00-00).
(2) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON position.
(4) Remove the sidewall panel 132SW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).

(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (21) from the cartridges (22).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Loosen the nuts (5) and disconnect the flexible hoses (4) from the discharge heads (19).
(8) Loosen the nut (15) and disconnect the flexible hose (14) from the safety relief valve (26).
(9) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line end and the safety relief valve (26).
(10) Remove the nut (8) and the bolt (9) and then move the tie-rod (10) away from the fire extinguisher bottle (1).
(11) Remove the fire extinguisher bottle as follows:
(b) Remove the fire extinguisher bottle (1) and put it on an applicable support.
Subtask 26-23-41-020-064-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(1) Make sure that you are grounded with the ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP. CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors (21) as follows: (a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (21) from the cartridges (22).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(c) Put the 10-101950-81 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE,HTL (20) on the cartridges (22). CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
(3) Remove the nuts (23) and the bonding straps (24) from the ground lug bolts (25). CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the pressure switch (3). (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Loosen the nuts (5) and disconnect the flexible hoses (4) from the discharge heads (19).
NOTE: We recommend that you do not remove the safety beaded chain that is installed on the hoses. This prevents the cross-connection of the cartridge electrical connectors.
(7) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends and the discharge heads (19). (8) Loosen the nut (15) and disconnect the flexible hose (14) from the safety relief valve (26).
(9) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line end and the safety relief valve (26).
(10) Remove the nut (8) and the bolt (9) and then move the tie-rod (10) away from the fire extinguisher bottle (1).
(11) Remove the fire extinguisher bottle as follows:
WARNING:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE A FULL FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE. A SUDDEN OR HEAVY SHOCK TO A FULL BOTTLE CAN CAUSE UNWANTED DISCHARGE AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
(a) Hold the fire extinguisher bottle (1) and remove the nuts (6), the washers (7) and the bolts (17). (b) Remove the fire extinguisher bottle (1) and put it on an applicable support.

(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (21) from the cartridges (22).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Loosen the nuts (5) and disconnect the flexible hoses (4) from the discharge heads (19).
(8) Loosen the nut (15) and disconnect the flexible hose (14) from the safety relief valve (26).

(b) Remove the fire extinguisher bottle (1) and put it on an applicable support.

BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(c) Put the 2-100831-1 PLUG-SHUNT (20) on the cartridges (22). NOTE: The M83723-60-110AN PROTECTIVE CAP-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE can be used as an alternative to the 2-100831-1 PLUG-SHUNT.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
(3) Remove the nuts (23) and the bonding straps (24) from the ground lug bolts (25). CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the pressure switch (3). (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Loosen the nuts (5) and disconnect the flexible hoses (4) from the discharge heads (19).
