Removal of the Cartridge of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottle
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
WARNING:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE A FULL FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE. A SUDDEN OR HEAVY SHOCK TO A FULL BOTTLE CAN CAUSE UNWANTED DISCHARGE AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
WARNING:
DO NOT REMOVE/INSTALL THE DISCHARGE HEAD WITH THE CARTRIDGE INSTALLED.

A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguisher bottle is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguisher bottle is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
Subtask 26-21-41-020-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Cartridge
(2) Make sure that the 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE (1) is installed on the cartridge (2).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire from the cartridge (2) and discharge head (5).
(4) Record the position of the ground lug (4) before the removal.
(a) Remove the cartridge (2) and the ground lug (4) from the discharge head (5).
(5) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(6) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the discharge head (5).

(1) Make sure that you are grounded with a ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP. (2) Make sure that the 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE (1) is installed on the cartridge (2).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire from the cartridge (2) and discharge head (5).
(4) Record the position of the ground lug (4) before the removal.
(a) Remove the cartridge (2) and the ground lug (4) from the discharge head (5).
(5) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(6) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the discharge head (5).

(2) Make sure that a 263193 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE (1) is installed on the cartridge (2).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire from the cartridge (2) and discharge head (4).
(4) Record the position of the ground lug (3) before the removal.
(a) Remove the cartridge (2) and the ground lug (3) from the discharge head (4).
(5) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the discharge head (4).
