   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On one Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST FIRE PROT menu (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-005).

A. Test of the Lavatory Smoke-Detection System
   (1) Do this test procedure:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the SDCU indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The SDCU main menu page comes into view.
2.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the TEST indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The SDCU TEST-MENU page comes into view.
3.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the first SMK DET LAV DD (xx) indication.
NOTE: DD is the related lavatory location and xx is the related lavatory FIN number.
On the MCDU:
  • The message TEST WAIT shows.

After approximately 5 seconds:

In the cockpit:
On the panels 130VU and 131VU:
  • The MASTER WARN lights flash.
  • You hear the Continuous Repetitive Chime (CRC).
NOTE: You can cancel the cockpit CRC on the ECAM control panel.

On the MCDU:
  • The message
    SMOKE DET LAV DD (xx)
    TEST OK
    CK ECAM AND CABIN WARN
    shows.
NOTE: DD is the related lavatory location and xx is the related lavatory FIN number.

On the Engine/Warning Display (EWD):
  • SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE
    (red) shows.

On the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) or the related Additional Attendant Panel (AAP):
  • The SMOKE LAV light (red) comes on.

On all Attendant Indication Panels (AIPs):
  • SMOKE LAVATORY DD
    shows.
NOTE: DD is the related lavatory location.

In the cabin:
You see and hear the visual and aural indications specified in the Cabin Assignment Module (CAM).
NOTE: For a reset of these indications, it is necessary to push the smoke indicator on the related panel. You can also do a reset on the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP).

4.On the FAP or the related AAP (if installed):
  • Push the SMOKE LAV/RESET pushbutton switch.
On the AIPs:
  • The message SMOKE LAVATORY DD goes out of view.

On the FAP:
  • The SMOKE LAV light (red) stays on.

In the cabin:
The aural and visual indications as specified in the CAM stop/go out of view.
5.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The SDCU TEST-MENU page comes into view.

In the cockpit:
On the panels 130VU and 131VU:
  • The MASTER WARN lights go off.
  • The CRC stops.

On the EWD:
  • The message SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE
    goes out of view.

On the FAP:
  • The SMOKE LAV light (red) goes off.

In the cabin:
  • Make sure that all visual and aural indications are off.
6.Do this test again for the smoke detectors of all the other lavatories.

  • The SMOKE DETECTION page with the SMOKE RESET touch button comes into view.
  • The location of the related lavatory shows.

  • SMOKE LAV X
    shows.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
