3. Job Set-up
Subtask 26-12-17-860-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

A. Lubricate the threads of the bolts (8), (23), (25), (34) and (38) and the nuts (6), (21), (28), (32) and (36) with V10-077lubricant (engine oil) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010).

B. Lubrication of the Threads

   (1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (8), (25), (34) and (38) and the nuts (6), (28), (32) and (36) with V10-077lubricant (engine oil) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010).

C. Installation of the Core Fire Detector Elements
F Core Fire Detectors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Install the responder clamps (43) on the responders (11).
   (3) Attach the bracket (47) and the responders (11) at the end of the support tube (13) with the screws (40), the washers (41) and the nuts (42).
NOTE: Tighten the screws by hand only.
   (4) Make sure that the connector keyways are correctly aligned (Ref. view K).
   (5) TORQUE the screws (40) to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Start at the clamp nearest the responder (11) and put the sensor elements (12) in the sensor clamps (44).
   (7) Install the liners (45) and (46) to prevent damage to the sensor elements (12) in the clamps (44).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT ONE SENSOR ELEMENT DOES NOT EXTEND MORE THAN 0.5 IN. (12.7 MM) THROUGH THE LINER AND THE OTHER SENSOR ELEMENT HAS A MAXIMUM BEND RADIUS OF 0.75 IN. (19.05 MM).
   (8) Adjust the sensor elements (12) along the support tube (13). At the end of the support tube (13), bend each sensor back and insert it through the dual liner (46) (Ref. view J).

F Core Fire Detectors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Put the clips (24), (27), (33) and (37) on the support tube (13) in the correct position for installation.
   (2) Put the support tube (13) with the elements (12) attached on the engine in the correct position for installation.
   (3) Attach the responder supports to the tube at position G with the bolts (8), the washers (7) and the nuts (6).
   (4) Attach the fire detector assembly at the clip position E with the clip (33), the bolt (34), the washer (35), and the nut (32).
   (5) Attach the fire detector assembly at the three clip positions F with the clips (37), the bolts (38), the washers (39), and the nuts (36).
   (6) Attach the fire detector assembly at the clip position C with the clip (24), the bolt (23), the washer (22) and the nut (21).
   (7) Attach the fire detector assembly at the clip position D.
     (a) Hold the spacer (26) and the clip (27) in the position noted on removal.
     (b) Install the bolt (25) through the clip, the spacer (26) and the clip (27).
     (c) Install the washer (29) and the nut (28) on the bolt (25).
   (8) TORQUE the nuts (6), (21), (32) and (36) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (9) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors and the electrical receptacles.
   (10) Connect the electrical connectors (9) (4001WD1-A) and (10) (4001WD2-A) to the responders (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).

   (7) TORQUE the nuts (6), (28), (32) and (36) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (8) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors and the electrical receptacles.
   (9) Connect the electrical connectors (4001WD1-A) and (4001WD2-A) to the responders (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).

     (c) Install the washer (29) and the nut (28) on the bolt (25).
   (7) TORQUE the nuts (6), (28), (32) and (36) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (8) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors and the electrical receptacles.
   (9) Connect the electrical connectors (4001WD1-A) and (4001WD2-A) to the responders (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).

   (8) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors and the electrical receptacles.
   (9) Connect the electrical connectors (4001WD1-A) and (4001WD2-A) to the responders (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).

   (2) Do an operational test of the engine fire and overheat Detection system (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-00-710-001).
