4. Procedure
Subtask 26-12-17-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Core Fire Detector Sensors on the Rail Assembly
CAUTION: MAKE SURE NOT TO BEND OR KINK THE FIRE DETECTOR ELEMENTS (75). DAMAGE TO THE ELEMENTS CAN MAKE THE FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM NOT WORK.
   (1) Make sure that a cap is installed at the end of the sensing element.
   (2) Make sure that there is good electrical bond between the sensors (40), the rail assembly (50) and the engine bracket.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Clean all bonding surfaces with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
     (b) Dry the bonding surfaces with a clean cloth before the solvent becomes gas.
   (3) Install the fire detector sensor on the engine bracket as follows:
     (a) Put the LH core loop A fire detector sensor (4001WD1) in position on the rail assembly (50) and the engine bracket and attach it with bolts (30) and washers (35). Do not torque the screws (30) at this time.
     (b) Put the RH core loop B fire detector sensor (4001WD2) in position on the rail assembly (50) and the engine bracket and attach it with bolts (30) and washers (35). Do not torque the bolts (30) at this time.
     (c) TORQUE the bolts (30) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Do an electrical resistance test to make sure there is good electrical bond between the fire detector, the rail assembly, and the engine bracket.
     (a) Put one lead of the MILLIOHMMETER 0.01 OHM - LOW VOLTAGE on the fire detector (40).
     (b) Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the engine bracket.
     (c) The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must be 0.0025 ohm or less.
     (d) If the resistance is more than 0.0025 ohm, remove the fasteners and clean the bonding surfaces again. Do this procedure until the resistance indication is in the correct range.
   (5) Install the core fire detector sensors (75) onto the rail assembly (50).
NOTE: Sensor tubes are to follow contour of rail smoothly. Minimum bend radius 0.35 in. (8.89 mm).
NOTE: Maximum overhang of fire detector sensor tube 1 in. (25.4 mm). Sensor tube termination through dual liner as required.
NOTE: 0.10 in. (2.54 mm) clearance between both sensor tubes.
NOTE: 0.125 in. (3.17 mm) minimum clearance between fire detector sensor tubes and metal band of clamp. Rotate clamp so that clamp minimum envelope is next to tube.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
! BEFORE SPIB NO. CFM99300MW1 !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     (a) Point the fire detector sensors (75) so the sensor tubes align with the clamp (70) slits.
     (b) Install the fire detector sensors (75) into the clamp (70) slits.
     (c) Install the clamps (70) on the core fire detector sensors (75).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
! AFTER SPIB NO. CFM99300MW !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     (d) Point the fire detector sensors (75) so the sensor tubes align with the insert (90) and (95) slits.
     (e) Install the fire detector sensors (75) into the inserts (90) and (95) slits.
     (f) Install the bolts (80) and clamp covers (85) that attach the fire detector sensors (75) to the rail assembly (50).
     (g) TORQUE the bolts (80) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.

! END SPIB CFM99300MW1 !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

   (6) Install the core loop A fire detector wire harness on the LH fire detector sensor (4001WD1).
     (a) Put the harness wire (25) on terminal B of the sensor (40) and attach it with nut (20).
     (b) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
