(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Aft Fire/Overheat Detector with the Rail
(2) Disconnect the loop-B fire harness from the aft fireloop assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-62-000-802).
(3) Remove the aft fireloop assembly (1):
(a) Remove the six bolts (3) and six washers (2) that attach the six clamps (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the brackets.
(b) Remove the two bolts (7) and two washers (2) that attach the two clamps (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine bracket.
(c) Remove the nut (8), two washers (2) and bolt (10) that attach the clamp (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the clamp (9) and engine harness.
(d) Remove the clamp (9) from the engine harness.
(e) Remove the nut (8), two washers (2) and bolt (3) that attach the clamp (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the clamp (11) and engine harness.
(f) Remove the clamp (11) from the engine harness.
(g) Remove the bolt (7) and washer (2) that attach the left end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the fire detector heatshield bracket.
(h) Remove the two bolts (3), two screws (5) and four washers (2) and (4) that attach the left end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine mounting bracket.
(i) Remove the two screws (12), two bolts (7) and (13) and four washers (2) and (4) that attach right end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine mounting bracket.
(j) Carefully, remove the aft fireloop assembly (1) from the engine.
(k) Remove the ten clamps (6) from the aft fireloop assembly (1).
(l) Remove the two bolts (14) and two hinged clamps (15) from the aft fireloop assembly (1).
(4) Installation of protection covers:
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
(1) Disconnect the loop-A electrical rail assembly from the aft fireloop assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-61-000-802). (2) Disconnect the loop-B fire harness from the aft fireloop assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-62-000-802).
(3) Remove the aft fireloop assembly (1):
(a) Remove the six bolts (3) and six washers (2) that attach the six clamps (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the brackets.
(b) Remove the two bolts (7) and two washers (2) that attach the two clamps (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine bracket.
(c) Remove the nut (8), two washers (2) and bolt (10) that attach the clamp (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the clamp (9) and engine harness.
(d) Remove the clamp (9) from the engine harness.
(e) Remove the nut (8), two washers (2) and bolt (3) that attach the clamp (6) and aft fireloop assembly (1) to the clamp (11) and engine harness.
(f) Remove the clamp (11) from the engine harness.
(g) Remove the bolt (7) and washer (2) that attach the left end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the fire detector heatshield bracket.
(h) Remove the two bolts (3), two screws (5) and four washers (2) and (4) that attach the left end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine mounting bracket.
(i) Remove the two screws (12), two bolts (7) and (13) and four washers (2) and (4) that attach right end of the aft fireloop assembly (1) to the engine mounting bracket.
(j) Carefully, remove the aft fireloop assembly (1) from the engine.
(k) Remove the ten clamps (6) from the aft fireloop assembly (1).
(l) Remove the two bolts (14) and two hinged clamps (15) from the aft fireloop assembly (1).
(4) Installation of protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
