Subtask 26-12-15-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fan Fire Detector Sensors onto the Rail Assembly
   (1) Install the fan fire detector sensors on the rail assembly.
     (a) Install the nuts (55) that attach the sensors (30) to the rail (40). Do not torque the nuts (55) at this time.
     (b) Point the fire detector sensors (30) so the sensor tubes align with the insert (45) slits.
     (c) Install the fire detector sensors (30) into the inserts (45).
     (d) TORQUE the nuts (55) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN ) T.
NOTE: Sensor tubes are to follow contour of rail smoothly. Minimum bend radius 0.35 inch (8.89 mm).
NOTE: Maximum overhang of fire detector sensor tube 1 inch (25.4 mm).
Sensor tube termination through dual liner as required.
NOTE: 0.10 inch (2.54 mm) clearance between both sensor tubes.
NOTE: 0.125 inch (3.175 mm) minimum clearance between fire detector sensor tubes and metal band of clamp. Rotate clamp so that clamp minimum envelope is next to tube.
     (e) Install the clamps (50) onto the inserts (45). Use TIE-DEX BAND.
   (2) Install the fan fire detector.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE FIRE DETECTORS AND THE RAIL AS ONE ASSEMBLY. THE FIRE DETECTOR SENSOR ELEMENTS CAN BE DAMAGED IF NOT SUPPORTED BY THE RAIL.
     (a) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors 4000WD1A and 4000WD2A and the fire detectors (5).
     (b) Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Make sure there is a good electrical bond between the fire detector sensors (30), the clamps (10), the fire detector (5) and the engine brackets.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
1 Make all bonding surfaces clean with a cloth made moist with MEK/MIBK blend (40 percent MEK, 60 percent MIBK).
2 Dry the bonding surfaces with a clean cloth before the solvent becomes gas.
BEFORE SB RA32026-6
     (d) Install the clamps (10) and (15) that attach the fire detector (5) to the brackets installed on the accessory gearbox.
END SB RA32026-6
AFTER SB RA32026-6
     (e) Install the clamps (10), (15), (20) and (25) that attach the fire detector (5) to the brackets installed on the accessory gearbox.
END SB RA32026-6
     (f) Use an ohmmeter and do an electrical resistance check of the fire detectors (5) as follows:
1 Put one lead of the ohmmeter on the fire detector (5).
2 Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the engine bracket.
3 The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must be 0.0025 ohm or less.
4 If the resistance is more than 0.0025 ohm, remove the clamps (10) and clean the bonding surfaces again.
5 Do this procedure until the resistance indication is in the correct range.
     (g) Connect the electrical connectors 4000WD1A and 4000WD2A to the fire detector (5). Tighten the connectors by hand and lock them by one-eighth turn.
