A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) In the passenger compartment:
(a) Make sure that the emergency exit hatches are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001).
(3) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
Subtask 25-62-46-860-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) In the passenger compartment:
(a) Make sure that the emergency exit hatches are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001).
(3) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the slide-release system is disarmed:
(a) Make sure that the handle cover (2) is removed.
(b) Make sure that the unlock lever (7) of the shaft (6) is behind the disarm bracket (4).
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the overwing emergency exits (1) to tell persons not to arm the slide-release system.
(3) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
Subtask 25-62-46-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the slide-release system is disarmed:
(a) Make sure that the handle cover (2) is removed.
(b) Make sure that the unlock lever (7) of the shaft (6) is behind the disarm bracket (4).

A. Preparation and Inspection of Component for Installation
(a) Loosen the nut (39) and turn the hose assembly (10) 180 deg.
(b) TORQUE the nut (39) to between 3.20 and 3.00 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )

(c) Make sure that the distance between the nut (39) and the hose assembly (10) is between 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) and 9.50 mm (0.37 in.).
(2) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (5), the hose assembly (10) and the wire-control assembly (2) are in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that the pressure gage (11) shows the correct pressure.
(4) Pulley assembly (4) and (7) adjustment procedure:
(b) Make sure that the RED index-marks (38) are opposite each other, or in the permitted tolerance. A tolerance of 1.00 mm (0.04 in.) is permitted between the center lines of each index-mark.
(c) If the RED index-marks (38) are not opposite each other, or not in the permitted tolerance, do these steps:
1 Loosen the bolt (36) and the nut (37).
2 Turn the two shells (35) until the RED index-marks (38) align, or are in the permitted tolerance.
3 Tighten the bolt (36) and the nut (37).
4 TORQUE the nut (37) to between 1.05 and 0.95 m.daN (92.92 and 84.07 lbf.in )
.
Subtask 25-62-46-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WITH THE INFLATION RESERVOIR AND ITS COMPONENTS. THE RESERVOIR IS AN ALUMINUM BOTTLE WOUND IN KEVLAR FIBERS BONDED WITH EPOXY RESINS, AND IS PRESSURIZED WITH GAS.
IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RESERVOIR, THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION.
NO DAMAGE IS PERMITTED.
(1) If you install a new inflation reservoir (5), do these steps: (a) Loosen the nut (39) and turn the hose assembly (10) 180 deg.
(b) TORQUE the nut (39) to between 3.20 and 3.00 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (c) Make sure that the distance between the nut (39) and the hose assembly (10) is between 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) and 9.50 mm (0.37 in.).
(2) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (5), the hose assembly (10) and the wire-control assembly (2) are in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that the pressure gage (11) shows the correct pressure.
(4) Pulley assembly (4) and (7) adjustment procedure:
NOTE: If there are no RED index-marks, the pulley assembly adjustment is not necessary.
(a) If you can see RED index-marks (38) on the pulley assemblies (4) and (7), do these steps: (b) Make sure that the RED index-marks (38) are opposite each other, or in the permitted tolerance. A tolerance of 1.00 mm (0.04 in.) is permitted between the center lines of each index-mark.
(c) If the RED index-marks (38) are not opposite each other, or not in the permitted tolerance, do these steps:
1 Loosen the bolt (36) and the nut (37).
2 Turn the two shells (35) until the RED index-marks (38) align, or are in the permitted tolerance.
3 Tighten the bolt (36) and the nut (37).
4 TORQUE the nut (37) to between 1.05 and 0.95 m.daN (92.92 and 84.07 lbf.in )
. B. Installation of the Inflation Reservoir
(2) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (5) touches the rear of the support bracket (8).
(3) Make sure that the pressure gage (11) does not point to the support bracket (8).
(4) Remove the pressure seal cap (20) from the bulkhead connection (9).
(5) Put the pressure seal cap (20) in the pocket (3).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Connect the hose assembly (10) to the bulkhead connection (9).
(8) TORQUE the hose assembly (10) to between 3.2 and 3.0 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Carefully put the hose assembly (10) adjacent to the support bracket (8).
(10) Make sure that there is no kink in the hose assembly (10).
(11) Install the spacer (17), clamp (16), washer (15) and bolt (14).
(12) Tighten the bolt (14).
(13) Tighten the clamps (13).
(14) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(15) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(16) Remove the blanking plug (22) from the socket (24).
(17) Connect the blanking plug (22) to the dummy socket (23).
(18) Connect the electrical connector (21) to the socket (24) as follows:
(a) FOR [7506MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS L)
Connect the electrical connector (21) to 7555VC-A.
(b) FOR [7507MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS R)
Connect the electrical connector (21) to 7556VC-A.
(a) Make sure that the end of the wire (25) and the wire control assembly (2) are clean and there is no dirt on them. This will prevent an incorrect adjustment of the wire control assembly (2).
(b) Remove the protection plug (32) from the sleeve nut (18) to get access to the two clips (31).
(c) Make sure that you do not push the end of the wire (25) into the wire control assembly (2).
(d) Remove and retain the two clips (31).
(e) Put the protection plug (32) in the pocket (3).
(f) Carefully engage the end of the wire (25) in the slot of the flexible control assembly (1).
(g) Put the two clips (31) around the connection of the two control assemblies and tighten the sleeve nut (18).
(h) Make sure that one of the spaces between the two clips (31) point to you.
(j) Safety the sleeve nut (18) with new14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (19) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
(20) Make sure that the lockwires (34) safety the nuts (33) correctly.
(21) If the lockwire(s) (34) is (are) missing, safety the nut(s) (33) with new14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (34) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
(22) If there is tension and/or torsion in the wire control assembly (2), do these steps:
(a) Release the tension from the wire control assembly (2) as follows:
1 Loosen the nuts (40) and (41) to adjust the support bracket (8).
2 Move the support bracket (8) in the forward or the aft direction until there is no tension.
3 Tighten the nuts (40) and (41).
(b) Release the torsion from the wire control assembly (2) as follows:
1 At the pulley assembly (4), remove and discard the lockwire (34) and loosen the nut (33).
3 TORQUE the nut (33) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
.
4 Safety the nut (33) with new14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (34) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
Subtask 25-62-46-560-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WITH THE INFLATION RESERVOIR AND ITS COMPONENTS. THE RESERVOIR IS AN ALUMINUM BOTTLE WOUND IN KEVLAR FIBERS BONDED WITH EPOXY RESINS, AND IS PRESSURIZED WITH GAS.

(1) Install the inflation reservoir (5) on the support bracket (8).(2) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (5) touches the rear of the support bracket (8).
(3) Make sure that the pressure gage (11) does not point to the support bracket (8).
(4) Remove the pressure seal cap (20) from the bulkhead connection (9).
(5) Put the pressure seal cap (20) in the pocket (3).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Connect the hose assembly (10) to the bulkhead connection (9).
(8) TORQUE the hose assembly (10) to between 3.2 and 3.0 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (9) Carefully put the hose assembly (10) adjacent to the support bracket (8).
(10) Make sure that there is no kink in the hose assembly (10).
(11) Install the spacer (17), clamp (16), washer (15) and bolt (14).
(12) Tighten the bolt (14).
(13) Tighten the clamps (13).
(14) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(15) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(16) Remove the blanking plug (22) from the socket (24).
(17) Connect the blanking plug (22) to the dummy socket (23).
(18) Connect the electrical connector (21) to the socket (24) as follows:
(a) FOR [7506MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS L)
Connect the electrical connector (21) to 7555VC-A.
(b) FOR [7507MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS R)
Connect the electrical connector (21) to 7556VC-A.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT PUT WEIGHT ON THE FWD PULLEY WHEN YOU CONNECT THE WIRE- CONTROL ASSEMBLY TO THE FLEXIBLE CONTROL-ASSEMBLY. WEIGHT ON THE PULLEY CAUSES TENSION IN THE WIRE, WHICH CAN CAUSE THE END OF THE WIRE TO BREAK.
CAUTION:
DO NOT PUSH THE END OF THE WIRE INTO THE WIRE-CONTROL ASSEMBLY. THIS CAN CAUSE A KINK IN THE WIRE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TWIST THE WIRE-CONTROL ASSEMBLY. IF THE WIRE-CONTROL ASSEMBLY IS TWISTED, THE TWIST CAN MOVE TO THE WIRE-CONTROL ASSEMBLY IN THE FORWARD PULLEY. THIS CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE OFFWING SLIDE.
(19) Connect the wire control assembly (2) to the flexible control assembly (1): (a) Make sure that the end of the wire (25) and the wire control assembly (2) are clean and there is no dirt on them. This will prevent an incorrect adjustment of the wire control assembly (2).
(b) Remove the protection plug (32) from the sleeve nut (18) to get access to the two clips (31).
(c) Make sure that you do not push the end of the wire (25) into the wire control assembly (2).
(d) Remove and retain the two clips (31).
(e) Put the protection plug (32) in the pocket (3).
(f) Carefully engage the end of the wire (25) in the slot of the flexible control assembly (1).
(g) Put the two clips (31) around the connection of the two control assemblies and tighten the sleeve nut (18).
(h) Make sure that one of the spaces between the two clips (31) point to you.
NOTE: The space between the two clips (31) helps you to see the end of the wire (25) while you tighten the sleeve nut (18).
(i) Make sure that the end of wire (25) stays connected to the flexible control assembly (1) while you tighten the sleeve nut (18).(j) Safety the sleeve nut (18) with new
(20) Make sure that the lockwires (34) safety the nuts (33) correctly.
(21) If the lockwire(s) (34) is (are) missing, safety the nut(s) (33) with new
(22) If there is tension and/or torsion in the wire control assembly (2), do these steps:
(a) Release the tension from the wire control assembly (2) as follows:
1 Loosen the nuts (40) and (41) to adjust the support bracket (8).
2 Move the support bracket (8) in the forward or the aft direction until there is no tension.
3 Tighten the nuts (40) and (41).
(b) Release the torsion from the wire control assembly (2) as follows:
1 At the pulley assembly (4), remove and discard the lockwire (34) and loosen the nut (33).
NOTE: When you loosen the nut (33), the torsion releases automatically.
2 Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) on the threads of the wire control assembly (2).3 TORQUE the nut (33) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
. 4 Safety the nut (33) with new
C. Preparation and Inspection of Component for Installation
(a) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (3) is in a good condition and the external surface of the cylinder is not damaged.
(b) Make sure that the pressure gage (26) shows the correct pressure.
(2) Make sure that the pocket (5) is attached to the inflation reservoir (3).
Subtask 25-62-46-420-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WITH THE INFLATION RESERVOIR AND ITS COMPONENTS. THE RESERVOIR IS AN ALUMINUM BOTTLE WOUND IN KEVLAR FIBERS BONDED WITH EPOXY RESINS, AND IS PRESSURIZED WITH GAS.
IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RESERVOIR, THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION.

(1) Examine the inflation reservoir (3): (a) Make sure that the inflation reservoir (3) is in a good condition and the external surface of the cylinder is not damaged.
(b) Make sure that the pressure gage (26) shows the correct pressure.
(2) Make sure that the pocket (5) is attached to the inflation reservoir (3).
D. Installation of the Inflation Reservoir
(2) Remove the pressure seal cap from the fuselage connection (16) and put it into the pocket (5).
(3) Remove the protection cap from the hose assembly (15) and put it into the pocket (5).
(5) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 39.5 and 30.1 m.N (29.13 and 22.20 lbf.ft )
.
(6) Make sure that there are no kinks in the hose assembly (15).
(7) TORQUE the nut (24) to between 33.0 and 30.0 m.N (24.34 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
.
(8) Install the the clamp (19), the washers (17) and the bolt (18).
(9) Tighten the bolt (18).
(10) Make sure that the plate (21) is in the correct position on the aircraft bracket.
(11) Install the washers (23) and the screws (22).
(12) Tighten the screws (22).
(13) TORQUE the clamps (4) to between 4.5 and 4.0 m.N (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in )
.
(14) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(15) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(16) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the socket (12):
(a) FOR [7686MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS RH (ACT))
6010VC-A
(b) FOR [7685MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS LH (ACT))
6011VC-A.
(17) Connect the cable (11) to the lever (6) and install the washers (9) and the pin (10).
(18) Safety the pin (10) with the new cotter pin (8).
(19) Make sure that the lever (6) is in the horizontal position and engaged in the bracket (7).

BE CAREFUL WITH THE INFLATION RESERVOIR AND ITS COMPONENTS. THE RESERVOIR IS AN ALUMINUM BOTTLE WOUND IN KEVLAR FIBERS BONDED WITH EPOXY RESINS, AND IS PRESSURIZED WITH GAS.
IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RESERVOIR, THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION.
NO DAMAGE IS PERMITTED.
(1) Put the inflation reservoir (3) in the installation position and loosely tighten the clamps (4). (2) Remove the pressure seal cap from the fuselage connection (16) and put it into the pocket (5).
(3) Remove the protection cap from the hose assembly (15) and put it into the pocket (5).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNIONS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES FROM/TO THE UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PNEUMATIC LINES AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(4) Connect the hose assembly (15) to the fuselage connection (16). (5) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 39.5 and 30.1 m.N (29.13 and 22.20 lbf.ft )
. (6) Make sure that there are no kinks in the hose assembly (15).
(7) TORQUE the nut (24) to between 33.0 and 30.0 m.N (24.34 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (8) Install the the clamp (19), the washers (17) and the bolt (18).
(9) Tighten the bolt (18).
(10) Make sure that the plate (21) is in the correct position on the aircraft bracket.
(11) Install the washers (23) and the screws (22).
(12) Tighten the screws (22).
(13) TORQUE the clamps (4) to between 4.5 and 4.0 m.N (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. (14) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(15) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(16) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the socket (12):
(a) FOR [7686MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS RH (ACT))

(b) FOR [7685MM] (RESERVOIR ASSY OWS LH (ACT))

(17) Connect the cable (11) to the lever (6) and install the washers (9) and the pin (10).
(18) Safety the pin (10) with the new cotter pin (8).
(19) Make sure that the lever (6) is in the horizontal position and engaged in the bracket (7).
E. Functional Test:
(2) At the bottom end of the release lever, try to lift the lever with one finger. If there is a strong resistance to lever movement, the joint between the flexible control assembly (1) and the release wire-control assembly (2) is satisfactory.
(3) If there is a low resistance to lever movement, the cable joint is not correct. Loosen the knurled sleeve nut (18), remove the two collets and make the cable joint again. Do step 2 again.

(5) Safety the knurled sleeve nut (18) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
Subtask 25-62-46-865-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
(1) Remove the 98D52207507000 PIN SET-EMERGENCY SLIDE,EMERGENCY EXITS from the release lever. - DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
- DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
(2) At the bottom end of the release lever, try to lift the lever with one finger. If there is a strong resistance to lever movement, the joint between the flexible control assembly (1) and the release wire-control assembly (2) is satisfactory.
(3) If there is a low resistance to lever movement, the cable joint is not correct. Loosen the knurled sleeve nut (18), remove the two collets and make the cable joint again. Do step 2 again.
(4) Install the 98D52207507000 PIN SET-EMERGENCY SLIDE,EMERGENCY EXITS on the release lever to prevent an accidental operation of the escape-slide release mechanism.
(5) Safety the knurled sleeve nut (18) with

4 Push the shaft (6) to the left until the unlock lever (7) engages.
