A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) In the cockpit, on overhead panel 25VU:
(a) Make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL (1) is in the OFF position.
(b) Make sure that NO SMOKING/EXIT/NO PED switch 190RH is in the OFF position.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate these switches.
(3) In the cabin, on the flight attendant panel(s):
(a) Make sure that the EMER switch is released (the EMER legend is off) (Ref. AMM D/O 23-73-00-00).
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the EMER switch.
(4) If you install the pack assembly (9) at the right passenger/crew door (referred to as door) where the escape slide raft deployed during:
(5) Make sure that the door is safetied:
(b) Make sure that the emergency control handle (3) is in the DISARMED/MANUAL position with the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4) installed.
(6) Make sure that the door is closed from the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the outer door control-handle to tell persons not to open the door.
Subtask 25-62-44-560-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) In the cockpit, on overhead panel 25VU:

- An operational test,
(5) Make sure that the door is safetied:
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE ESCAPE-SLIDE, MAKE SURE THAT THE DOOR IS SAFETIED.
THIS PREVENTS SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR AND ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE-SLIDE, WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR. SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR AND ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder is disarmed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001). (b) Make sure that the emergency control handle (3) is in the DISARMED/MANUAL position with the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4) installed.
(6) Make sure that the door is closed from the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the outer door control-handle to tell persons not to open the door.
B. Inspection and Preparation of the Right Components for Installation
(1) Examine the pack assembly (9):
(a) Do a visual inspection of the general condition of the slide raft pack assembly.
(b) Make sure that the inflation reservoir is safetied:
2 The lock pin assembly (18) is kept in a stowage pocket on the soft cover of the pack assembly (9).
(c) Make sure that the routing of the inflation cable (51) is correct:
(f) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(g) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(h) Make sure that the connector (61) between the pull handle cable (62) and the inflation cable (60) is connected.
If you must disconnect the connector (58):
1 Carefully loosen the sleeve nut until you can remove the ball end of the cable and loop assembly (57) from the body.
(j) Make sure that the pressure gage (53) shows the correct pressure.
(k) If the lacing cord which safeties the pack assembly (9) during transportation is installed, removed it.
(b) Put the pack assembly (9) on front of the related door.
(d) Disconnect the quick-release connector (23).
(e) Pull the electrical harness (22) out from between the two girt assembly halves, in the direction of the door arm support.
(f) The electrical harness (22) must fall out of the side of the girt assembly in the direction of the flight.
(g) Connect the quick-release connector (23).
(h) Install the electrical harness (22):
1 Refer to the instructions which are on the soft cover of the pack assembly (9).
2 Make sure that you installed the quick-release connector (23) next to the 'STOW PLUG HERE' mark/placard.
(i) Close the burr-strips (54), (55) and (56).
4. Procedure(1) Examine the pack assembly (9):
(a) Do a visual inspection of the general condition of the slide raft pack assembly.
(b) Make sure that the inflation reservoir is safetied:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
1 Make sure that the lock pin assembly (18) is installed in the regulator valve assembly (19). - DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
- DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
2 The lock pin assembly (18) is kept in a stowage pocket on the soft cover of the pack assembly (9).
(c) Make sure that the routing of the inflation cable (51) is correct:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE INFLATION CABLE IS NOT PULLED OUT FROM THE PACK-ASSEMBLY. IF IT IS PULLED OUT, DO NOT PUT IT BACK, BUT REPLACE THE PACK-ASSEMBLY. IF THE INFLATION CABLE IS PUT BACK INCORRECTLY, IT CAN PREVENT THE INFLATION OF THE ESCAPE-SLIDE RAFT.
1 An incorrect routing is given, if: - The inflation cable is pulled out of the pack assembly.
- The inflation cable is caught below the inflation reservoir.
- The inflation cable is wound around the inflation reservoir.
CAUTION:
DO NOT REMOVE THE PRESSURE GAUGE PROTECTION. THE PROTECTION IS A THERMAL INSULATOR AND IT PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE RESERVOIR GAUGE DURING TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND EVACUATION SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT.
(e) Make sure that the pressure gauge protection is installed on the pressure gauge. (f) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(g) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(h) Make sure that the connector (61) between the pull handle cable (62) and the inflation cable (60) is connected.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONNECTOR BETWEEN THE CABLE-AND-LOOP ASSEMBLY AND THE COVER RELEASE CABLE IS DISCONNECTED. THIS PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL PACK OPENING DURING REMOVAL, INSTALLATION OR TRANSPORTATION. ACCIDENTAL OPENING CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(i) Make sure that the connector (58) between the cable and loop assembly (57) and the cover release-cable (59) is disconnected. If you must disconnect the connector (58):
1 Carefully loosen the sleeve nut until you can remove the ball end of the cable and loop assembly (57) from the body.
(j) Make sure that the pressure gage (53) shows the correct pressure.
(k) If the lacing cord which safeties the pack assembly (9) during transportation is installed, removed it.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRIC HARNESS IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED ON THE PACK-ASSEMBLY. IF THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS IS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED, IT CAN PREVENT THE CORRECT INFLATION AND/OR DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE-SLIDE/SLIDE RAFT.
(2) Install the electrical harness (22) on the correct side of the pack assembly (9): NOTE: This pack assembly is interchangeable and can be installed on a left and on a right door.
(a) The electrical harness (22) must fall out of the girt assembly in the flight direction. (b) Put the pack assembly (9) on front of the related door.
NOTE: The pack assembly (9) weighs approximately 50.0 kg (110.23 lb).
(c) Open the burr-strips (54), (55) and (56). (d) Disconnect the quick-release connector (23).
(e) Pull the electrical harness (22) out from between the two girt assembly halves, in the direction of the door arm support.
(f) The electrical harness (22) must fall out of the side of the girt assembly in the direction of the flight.
(g) Connect the quick-release connector (23).
(h) Install the electrical harness (22):
1 Refer to the instructions which are on the soft cover of the pack assembly (9).
2 Make sure that you installed the quick-release connector (23) next to the 'STOW PLUG HERE' mark/placard.
(i) Close the burr-strips (54), (55) and (56).
Subtask 25-62-44-710-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Operational Test Procedure before Installation
(1) Do an operational test of the girt bar (10) before installation in the girt assembly:
(a) Hold the girt bar (10) and pull the trigger lever (37) in the direction shown.
(b) Hold the trigger lever (37) and move the telescopic end-fitting (41) in and out of the girt bar (10).
(c) Make sure that the telescopic end-fitting (41) can move freely in the girt bar (10).
(2) Do a visual inspection of the pin (69). Make sure that there is no corrosion.
Subtask 25-62-44-420-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do an operational test of the girt bar (10) before installation in the girt assembly:
(a) Hold the girt bar (10) and pull the trigger lever (37) in the direction shown.
(b) Hold the trigger lever (37) and move the telescopic end-fitting (41) in and out of the girt bar (10).
(c) Make sure that the telescopic end-fitting (41) can move freely in the girt bar (10).
(2) Do a visual inspection of the pin (69). Make sure that there is no corrosion.
B. Installation of the Right-Hand Escape-Slide-Raft Pack-Assembly (referred to as the pack-assembly)
(1) Install the girt bar (10) in the girt assembly (11):
(b) Pull the HANDLE (31) and open the lace-up joint (34).
(c) Install the girt bar (10) in the girt assembly (11).
Installation Procedure of the Girt Bar - Right-Hand Escape-Slide-Raft Pack-Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(d) Safety the parachute pin with the Yarn-- Nylon Breaking strength >40N (Material No.14PAB7) . Make sure that you do not apply a force of more than 40 N (8.99 lbf) to safety the parachute pin.
(2) Connect the connector (58) between the cable-and-loop assembly (57) and the cover release-cable (59):
(a) Put the ball-end of the cable-and-loop assembly (57) into the body.
(b) Tighten the sleeve nut.
(3) Install the pack-assembly (9) on the door:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Put the pack-assembly (9) in position on the supports (14).
(e) Connect the electrical connector (15) as follows:
Connect the electrical connector (15) to 2870VC-A.
2 FOR [7503MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE AFT R)
Connect the electrical connector (15) to 2872VC-A.
(f) Install the top attachments of the pack-assembly (9) with one of the two procedures:
1 Procedure 1:
a Make sure that the head of each mounting pin (42) has a minimum length of 25.0 mm (0.98 in.) from the door.
b Make sure that the quick-release latches (43) are in a good condition and are disengaged.
e Make sure that there is no play between the packboard (13) and the door.
f If there is play, carefully tighten the mounting pins (42). Make sure that you do not disengage the quick-release latches (43).
2 Procedure 2:
a Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the threads of the stud assemblies (45).
b Push the pack-assembly (9) in the direction of the door.
c Make sure that the wire which you can see through the heat shrink sleeve of the stud assemblies (45) is correctly attached to the stud assemblies (45).
e Carefully tighten the stud assemblies (45) with the ALLEN KEY 5/32 IN (49).
f TORQUE the stud assemblies (45) to between 0.66 and 0.60 m.daN (58.41 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.
g Make sure that the allen key (49) goes through the wire loop (50).
h Make sure that there is no play between the packboard (13) and the door.
i Connect the PULL handles (47) to the wire loop (50) with the attach links (48).
(4) Install the girt bar (10) on the floor fittings (26):
(b) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(c) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(d) Install the girt bar (10) on the floor fittings (26):
2 Make sure that the girt assembly (11) is correctly folded on the full length of the girt bar (10). Refer to detail section B-B.
(f) Make sure that the control-shaft levers (28) correctly engage in the holes of the girt bar (10).
(g) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED position.
(h) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(i) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(j) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the telescopic forks (27) of the door.
(k) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(l) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED position.
(m) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(n) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(o) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the floor fittings (26).
(p) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(q) Move the emergency control-handle (3) from the ARMED position to the DISARMED position four times. Make sure that the girt bar (10) can move freely.
(r) Make sure that the girt assembly (11) is in a smooth and equal shape along the full length of the girt bar (10).
(s) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED position and install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4).
(5) Examine the forward side of the pack-assembly (9):
(7) Fold the wire cable (76) and wind the orange flag (77) around it.
(8) Put the lock pin (18) in the pocket (75) on the soft-cover (12) of the pack-assembly (9).
(9) Do a check of the position of the electrical harness:
(a) Use the FLASHLIGHT and do a check of the position of the electrical harness.
(b) If necessary, install the electrical harness correctly. Refer to paragraph 3B. step (2) (Inspection and Preparation of Right-Hand Components for Installation).
(10) Install the decorative cover (20) on the pack-assembly (9):
1 Align the spring clips on the top edge of the decorative cover (20) with the slots (17) in the packboard (13).
2 Push the top edge of the decorative cover (20) against the attach-strips (16).
3 Push the bottom edge of the decorative cover (20) against the pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
(b) For procedure 3:
1 Engage the spring-loaded bolts (73).
2 Push the bottom edge of the decorative cover (20) against the pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
(c) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(d) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(e) Close the straps (21) and (22).
(f) Tighten the straps (21) and (22).
(g) Tightly wind the loose ends of the straps (21) around the buckles (78). Make sure that there are no loose ends of the straps (21).
(h) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(i) Make sure that you can see the pressure gage through the hole of the decorative cover (20).
(11) Do a visual inspection of the visual indicator (30) and the ARMED indication:
(a) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4) and move the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED position.
(b) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the floor fittings (26).
(c) If installed, make sure that the self-adhesive placards are in a good condition:
1 If necessary, install the new self-adhesive placards (Ref. AMM TASK 11-00-00-400-007).
2 Make sure that the point of the self-adhesive arrow (67) aligns with the orange mark.
3 If it does not, move the self-adhesive arrow (67) to the correct position.
(d) If an ARMED placard (68) is installed on the cabin floor, make sure that the orange mark aligns with the arrow on the placard.
(12) Do an installation check of the decorative cover (20):
(a) Slowly open the door with the door control-handle (2).
(b) Make sure that there is a clearance between the decorative cover (20) and the door frame lining.
(c) When the door is locked in the fully open position, make sure that there is a clearance between the decorative cover (20) and the fuselage.
1 If there is no clearance, make sure that you can set the door in the fully open and locked position with no resistance.
(d) Carefully close and lock the door with the door control-handle (2).
(e) Do a visual inspection of the sealing skirt (74). Make sure that the sealing skirt (74) goes between the trigger lever (37) of the girt bar (10) and the pack-assembly (9). See detail G.
(f) Make sure that the sealing skirt (74) must not be on the trigger lever (37).
Subtask 25-62-44-710-064-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the girt bar (10) in the girt assembly (11):
CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE GIRT ASSEMBLY. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL OPEN THE PACK ASSEMBLY.
(a) Open the burr strips (hook-and-loop fasteners) of the girt assembly (11). (b) Pull the HANDLE (31) and open the lace-up joint (34).
(c) Install the girt bar (10) in the girt assembly (11).
Installation Procedure of the Girt Bar - Right-Hand Escape-Slide-Raft Pack-Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Connect the connector (58) between the cable-and-loop assembly (57) and the cover release-cable (59):
(a) Put the ball-end of the cable-and-loop assembly (57) into the body.
(b) Tighten the sleeve nut.
(3) Install the pack-assembly (9) on the door:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Put the pack-assembly (9) in position on the supports (14).
NOTE: The pack-assembly (9) has a weight of approximately 50.0 kg (110.23 lb).
(d) Tilt the pack-assembly (9) inboard and hold it in position on the supports (14). (e) Connect the electrical connector (15) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ABRASIVES OR ABRASIVE TOOLS TO CLEAN, DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. ABRASIVES OR ABRASIVE TOOLS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CORROSION PROTECTION OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.
1 FOR [7501MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE FWD R)Connect the electrical connector (15) to 2870VC-A.
2 FOR [7503MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE AFT R)
Connect the electrical connector (15) to 2872VC-A.
(f) Install the top attachments of the pack-assembly (9) with one of the two procedures:
1 Procedure 1:
a Make sure that the head of each mounting pin (42) has a minimum length of 25.0 mm (0.98 in.) from the door.
b Make sure that the quick-release latches (43) are in a good condition and are disengaged.
NOTE: You can disengage the quick-release latches (43):
c Push the pack-assembly (9) in the direction of the door. - with your hand
- when you carefully pull the PULL handles (44).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE A TOOL OR A METAL OBJECT TO ENGAGE THE QUICK- RELEASE LATCHES. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PACK-ASSEMBLY.
d Use your hands to engage the quick-release latches (43) with the mounting pins (42). e Make sure that there is no play between the packboard (13) and the door.
f If there is play, carefully tighten the mounting pins (42). Make sure that you do not disengage the quick-release latches (43).
2 Procedure 2:
a Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the threads of the stud assemblies (45).
b Push the pack-assembly (9) in the direction of the door.
c Make sure that the wire which you can see through the heat shrink sleeve of the stud assemblies (45) is correctly attached to the stud assemblies (45).
WARNING:
WHEN YOU DO THE STEP BELOW, MAKE SURE THAT THE WIRE YOU CAN SEE IS NOT DAMAGED (DEFORMATION OR SEPARATION FOR EXAMPLE). IF THE WIRE IS DAMAGED AND THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, THE PORTABILITY FUNCTION WILL NOT OPERATE.
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE STUD ASSEMBLY, MAKE SURE THAT IT IS NOT DAMAGED. IF YOU INSTALL A DAMAGED STUD ASSEMBLY, IT CAN CAUSE THE PACK ASSEMBLY TO DISENGAGE FROM THE DOOR.
d Install the stud assemblies (45) on the door.e Carefully tighten the stud assemblies (45) with the ALLEN KEY 5/32 IN (49).
f TORQUE the stud assemblies (45) to between 0.66 and 0.60 m.daN (58.41 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.g Make sure that the allen key (49) goes through the wire loop (50).
h Make sure that there is no play between the packboard (13) and the door.
i Connect the PULL handles (47) to the wire loop (50) with the attach links (48).
NOTE: The PULL handles (47) are attached to the soft-cover (12) of the pack-assembly (9). It is not necessary to remove the PULL handles (47) when you connect them to the stud assemblies (45).
j Tighten the link nuts (46). (4) Install the girt bar (10) on the floor fittings (26):
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL START THE SEQUENCE OF STEPS THAT PULLS THE INFLATABLE ASSEMBLY OUT OF THE PACK-ASSEMBLY.
(a) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4) and move the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED position. (b) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(c) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(d) Install the girt bar (10) on the floor fittings (26):
CAUTION:
DO NOT PULL THE GIRT ASSEMBLY. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL OPEN THE PACK ASSEMBLY.
1 Push the girt bar (10) into the floor fittings (26) until the spring pawls (29) are engaged. 2 Make sure that the girt assembly (11) is correctly folded on the full length of the girt bar (10). Refer to detail section B-B.
NOTE: If the girt assembly (11) is not correctly folded:
(e) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2). - The girt bar (10) will disengage from the floor fittings (26) when you open the door. Then the pack-assembly (9) will disengage from the aircraft and not deploy.
- Friction occurs during the operation of the emergency control-handle (3). The PAX DOOR SLIDE indication on the ECAM/FAP will not align with the position of the emergency control-handle (3).
(f) Make sure that the control-shaft levers (28) correctly engage in the holes of the girt bar (10).
(g) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED position.
(h) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(i) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(j) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the telescopic forks (27) of the door.
(k) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(l) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED position.
(m) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(n) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(o) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the floor fittings (26).
(p) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(q) Move the emergency control-handle (3) from the ARMED position to the DISARMED position four times. Make sure that the girt bar (10) can move freely.
(r) Make sure that the girt assembly (11) is in a smooth and equal shape along the full length of the girt bar (10).
(s) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED position and install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4).
(5) Examine the forward side of the pack-assembly (9):
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE INFLATION CABLE IS NOT PULLED OUT FROM THE PACK-ASSEMBLY. IF IT IS PULLED OUT, DO NOT PUT IT BACK, BUT REPLACE THE PACK-ASSEMBLY. IF THE INFLATION CABLE IS PUT BACK INCORRECTLY, IT CAN PREVENT THE INFLATION OF THE ESCAPE-SLIDE RAFT.
(a) Make sure that the inflation cable (51) is not pulled out of the pocket (52). Refer to detail P. WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE THE LOCK PIN FROM THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. IF YOU DO NOT, IT CAN PREVENT THE INFLATION OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE/RAFT.
(6) Remove the lock pin (18) from the regulator valve assembly (19). (7) Fold the wire cable (76) and wind the orange flag (77) around it.
(8) Put the lock pin (18) in the pocket (75) on the soft-cover (12) of the pack-assembly (9).
(9) Do a check of the position of the electrical harness:
(a) Use the FLASHLIGHT and do a check of the position of the electrical harness.
(b) If necessary, install the electrical harness correctly. Refer to paragraph 3B. step (2) (Inspection and Preparation of Right-Hand Components for Installation).
(10) Install the decorative cover (20) on the pack-assembly (9):
NOTE: There are three different procedures to install the decorative cover (20):
More force is necessary to attach the dual-lock reclosable fastener-strips than to attach the burr strips. You hear a click when the two halves engage.
(a) For procedures 1 and 2: - Procedure 1: with the burr strips
- Procedure 2: with the dual-lock reclosable fastener-strips
- Procedure 3: with the spring-loaded bolts (73).
More force is necessary to attach the dual-lock reclosable fastener-strips than to attach the burr strips. You hear a click when the two halves engage.
1 Align the spring clips on the top edge of the decorative cover (20) with the slots (17) in the packboard (13).
2 Push the top edge of the decorative cover (20) against the attach-strips (16).
3 Push the bottom edge of the decorative cover (20) against the pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
(b) For procedure 3:
1 Engage the spring-loaded bolts (73).
2 Push the bottom edge of the decorative cover (20) against the pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
(c) Carefully lift the door with the door control-handle (2).
(d) Hold the door and do not let it open fully.
(e) Close the straps (21) and (22).
(f) Tighten the straps (21) and (22).
(g) Tightly wind the loose ends of the straps (21) around the buckles (78). Make sure that there are no loose ends of the straps (21).
(h) Carefully lower the door and lock it with the door control-handle (2).
(i) Make sure that you can see the pressure gage through the hole of the decorative cover (20).
(11) Do a visual inspection of the visual indicator (30) and the ARMED indication:
(a) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4) and move the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED position.
(b) Make sure that the girt bar (10) correctly engages into the floor fittings (26).
(c) If installed, make sure that the self-adhesive placards are in a good condition:
1 If necessary, install the new self-adhesive placards (Ref. AMM TASK 11-00-00-400-007).
2 Make sure that the point of the self-adhesive arrow (67) aligns with the orange mark.
3 If it does not, move the self-adhesive arrow (67) to the correct position.
(d) If an ARMED placard (68) is installed on the cabin floor, make sure that the orange mark aligns with the arrow on the placard.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) to refurbish the orange mark, if necessary.
(e) Move the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED position and install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (4). (12) Do an installation check of the decorative cover (20):
(a) Slowly open the door with the door control-handle (2).
(b) Make sure that there is a clearance between the decorative cover (20) and the door frame lining.
(c) When the door is locked in the fully open position, make sure that there is a clearance between the decorative cover (20) and the fuselage.
1 If there is no clearance, make sure that you can set the door in the fully open and locked position with no resistance.
(d) Carefully close and lock the door with the door control-handle (2).
(e) Do a visual inspection of the sealing skirt (74). Make sure that the sealing skirt (74) goes between the trigger lever (37) of the girt bar (10) and the pack-assembly (9). See detail G.
(f) Make sure that the sealing skirt (74) must not be on the trigger lever (37).
C. Operational Test of the Escape-Facilities
(1) Make sure that the door is closed and the emergency control-handle is in the ARMED position.
(2) Energize the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(3) Do the operational test of the emergency lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-51-00-710-001).
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the applicable door to tell persons not to open the door during the CIDS test.
(5) Do the operational test of the inflation reservoir (slide-bottle) monitoring through the CIDS.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the door is closed and the emergency control-handle is in the ARMED position.
(2) Energize the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(3) Do the operational test of the emergency lights (Ref. AMM TASK 33-51-00-710-001).
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the applicable door to tell persons not to open the door during the CIDS test.
(5) Do the operational test of the inflation reservoir (slide-bottle) monitoring through the CIDS.
NOTE: This test is applicable only if the Cabin Assignment Module (CAM) is programmed to monitor the slide-bottles.
