A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the aft cargo compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position adjacent to aft cargo compartment exit.
(4) Make sure that aft cargo compartment light switch 8LU is set to the on position.
(5) FOR [7504MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE OFFWING L)
(a) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(8) In the cockpit, on overhead panel 25VU (SIGNS):
(a) Make sure that the emergency exit light switch is set to the off position.
(b) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the emergency exit light switch.
(9) In the cabin, on the forward attendant panels:
(a) Make sure that the emergency exit light switch is set to the off position.
(b) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the emergency exit light switch.
(10) In the cockpit:

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ground service is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(3) In the cockpit:
WARNING:

Subtask 25-62-42-210-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Detailed Visual Inspection before the Installation
(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the escape-slide enclosure door (8) (referred to in this procedure as the "enclosure door") for signs of damage.
(2) If the escape slide enclosure (7) is painted again, do the steps that follow:
(b) Make sure that the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (7) is not more than 0.33 mm (0.01 in.).
(3) Make sure that the enclosure door (8) is flush with the outer surface of the related escape slide enclosure (7).
(4) Make sure that all the three ball lock pins (18) are flush with the outer surfaces of the ball lock mechanisms (13).
(5) If the enclosure door (8) and the ball lock pins (18) are not in the correct position, you must replace the escape slide enclosure (7).
(6) Make sure that the top surfaces of the ball lock pins (18) are clean and free of paint.
Subtask 25-62-42-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the escape-slide enclosure door (8) (referred to in this procedure as the "enclosure door") for signs of damage.
(2) If the escape slide enclosure (7) is painted again, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINT THICKNESS ON EXTERNALLY INSTALLED SLIDES IS NOT MORE THAN 0.33 MM. IF THE PAINT LAYER IS THICKER, THERE IS A RISK OF DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS IF A LIGHTNING STRIKE OCCURS.
(a) Use the GAGE-THICKNESS, PAINT BORER 518 to measure the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (7).(b) Make sure that the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (7) is not more than 0.33 mm (0.01 in.).
(3) Make sure that the enclosure door (8) is flush with the outer surface of the related escape slide enclosure (7).
(4) Make sure that all the three ball lock pins (18) are flush with the outer surfaces of the ball lock mechanisms (13).
(5) If the enclosure door (8) and the ball lock pins (18) are not in the correct position, you must replace the escape slide enclosure (7).
(6) Make sure that the top surfaces of the ball lock pins (18) are clean and free of paint.
B. Installation of the Escape Slide Enclosure
(1) If necessary, apply a layer of external paint to the door of the escape slide enclosure (7).
(3) Tilt the top of the escape slide enclosure (7) outboard and hold the escape slide enclosure (7).
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(6) TORQUE the inflation hose (16) to between 3.2 and 3.0 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
.
(7) Make sure that the elbow fitting of the inflation hose has a specified orientation for the correct installation. The specified orientation is at 5 degree angle to the top of the enclosure.
(8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(9) Connect the emergency lighting electrical-connector (14).
(10) Close the escape slide enclosure (7) and install the studs (17).

(12) Put the seal strips (9) and the seal attach plate (12) in position.
(13) Install the seal strips (9), seal attach plate (12), washers (11) and studs (10).
(14) TORQUE the studs (10) manually to between 3.0 and 2.7 m.N (26.55 and 23.89 lbf.in )
.
Subtask 25-62-42-210-055-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If necessary, apply a layer of external paint to the door of the escape slide enclosure (7).
NOTE: For the paint in the area of the escape-slide enclosure door, you can refer to the customized external painting and/or drawing. The structural repair manual also shows the specified type of materials you must use for different fuselage sections.
NOTE: If the enclosure door for the offwing escape slide comes painted with a layer of black conductive paint from the manufacturer, Airbus recommends to paint it before installation. You can use the escape slide enclosure without the external paint for some flights, but it is necessary to apply external paint during the next maintenance.
(2) Put the escape slide enclosure (7) in position. (3) Tilt the top of the escape slide enclosure (7) outboard and hold the escape slide enclosure (7).
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNIONS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES FROM/TO THE UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PNEUMATIC LINES AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(5) Connect the inflation hose (16) to the fuselage union (15). (6) TORQUE the inflation hose (16) to between 3.2 and 3.0 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (7) Make sure that the elbow fitting of the inflation hose has a specified orientation for the correct installation. The specified orientation is at 5 degree angle to the top of the enclosure.
(8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(9) Connect the emergency lighting electrical-connector (14).
(10) Close the escape slide enclosure (7) and install the studs (17).
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE TO THE STUDS. IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE, THE STUDS CAN FALL OFF IN FLIGHT AND THE ESCAPE SLIDE WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
(11) TORQUE the studs (17) manually to between 3.0 and 2.7 m.N (26.55 and 23.89 lbf.in )
. (12) Put the seal strips (9) and the seal attach plate (12) in position.
(13) Install the seal strips (9), seal attach plate (12), washers (11) and studs (10).
(14) TORQUE the studs (10) manually to between 3.0 and 2.7 m.N (26.55 and 23.89 lbf.in )
. NOTE: If the parts are damaged or you cannot find them, you can send an order of the components as spare parts (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001).
(15) Fill the space between the seal attach plate (12) and the escape slide enclosure (7) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) . C. Detailed Visual Inspection before the Installation
(1) Do a visual inspection of the escape-slide enclosure door (11) (referred to in this procedure as the "enclosure door") for signs of damage.
(2) If the escape slide enclosure (9) is painted again, do the steps that follow:
(b) Make sure that the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (9) is not more than 0.33 mm (0.01 in.).
(3) Make sure that the enclosure door (11) is flush with the outer surface of the related escape slide enclosure (9).
(4) If the enclosure door (11) is not in the correct position, it is necessary to replace the escape slide enclosure (9).
(5) Make sure that the enclosure door (11) is fully engaged and closed in the escape slide enclosure (9).
(6) Make sure that the three ball lock pins (16) are fully engaged and you cannot see the red O-rings (17) of the ball lock pins (16).
Subtask 25-62-42-420-052-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a visual inspection of the escape-slide enclosure door (11) (referred to in this procedure as the "enclosure door") for signs of damage.
(2) If the escape slide enclosure (9) is painted again, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINT THICKNESS ON EXTERNALLY INSTALLED SLIDES IS NOT MORE THAN 0.33 MM. IF THE PAINT LAYER IS THICKER, THERE IS A RISK OF DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS IF A LIGHTNING STRIKE OCCURS.
(a) Use the GAGE-THICKNESS, PAINT BORER 518 to measure the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (9).(b) Make sure that the thickness of the external paint on the escape slide enclosure (9) is not more than 0.33 mm (0.01 in.).
(3) Make sure that the enclosure door (11) is flush with the outer surface of the related escape slide enclosure (9).
(4) If the enclosure door (11) is not in the correct position, it is necessary to replace the escape slide enclosure (9).
(5) Make sure that the enclosure door (11) is fully engaged and closed in the escape slide enclosure (9).
(6) Make sure that the three ball lock pins (16) are fully engaged and you cannot see the red O-rings (17) of the ball lock pins (16).
D. Installation of the Escape Slide Enclosure
(1) If necessary, apply external paint to the enclosure door (11).
(3) Tilt the top of the enclosure (9) outboard and hold it.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(6) TORQUE the inflation hose (8) to between 32 and 30 m.N (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )

(7) Make red marks on the nut of the inflation hose (8) and the fuselage union (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(9) Connect the electrical connector (18).
(10) Close the enclosure (9) and install the enclosure studs (10).

(12) Put the seal strips (15) and the seal attach plate (14) in position and install the washers (13) and the studs (12).
(13) TORQUE the studs (12) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.N (26.55 and 21.24 lbf.in )
.
(15) Do a check of the maximum bonding value (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-002):
(a) Use a MILLIOHMMETER 0.5 OHM MAX, 10 A MAX - MULTIRANGE to measure the bonding value.
(b) Make sure that the maximum bonding value is not more than 100 milliohms.
Subtask 25-62-42-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-up(1) If necessary, apply external paint to the enclosure door (11).
NOTE: For the paint in the area of the escape-slide enclosure door, you can refer to the customized external painting and/or drawing. The Structural Repair Manual (SRM) also shows the specified type of materials you must use for different fuselage sections.
NOTE: If the enclosure door for the offwing escape slide comes painted with black conductive paint from the manufacturer, Airbus recommends to paint it before installation. You can use the escape slide enclosure without the external paint for some flights but it is necessary to apply external paint during the next maintenance.
(2) Install two CUP - SUCTION HAND, DOUBLE, 50 KG (110.2 LB) CAPACITY on the enclosure (9) and put the enclosure (9) in position. (3) Tilt the top of the enclosure (9) outboard and hold it.
(4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNIONS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES FROM/TO THE UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PNEUMATIC LINES AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(5) Connect the inflation hose (8) to the fuselage union (7). (6) TORQUE the inflation hose (8) to between 32 and 30 m.N (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (7) Make red marks on the nut of the inflation hose (8) and the fuselage union (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(9) Connect the electrical connector (18).
(10) Close the enclosure (9) and install the enclosure studs (10).
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE TO THE STUDS. IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE, THE STUDS CAN FALL OFF IN FLIGHT AND THE ESCAPE SLIDE WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
(11) TORQUE the enclosure studs (10) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.N (26.55 and 21.24 lbf.in )
. (12) Put the seal strips (15) and the seal attach plate (14) in position and install the washers (13) and the studs (12).
(13) TORQUE the studs (12) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.N (26.55 and 21.24 lbf.in )
. NOTE: If the parts are damaged or you cannot find them, you can send an order for the components as spare parts (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001).
(14) Fill the space between the seal strips (15) and the enclosure (9) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) .(15) Do a check of the maximum bonding value (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-002):
(a) Use a MILLIOHMMETER 0.5 OHM MAX, 10 A MAX - MULTIRANGE to measure the bonding value.
(b) Make sure that the maximum bonding value is not more than 100 milliohms.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) In the cockpit:
(a) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Do the special precautions after you worked on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
(5) FOR [7504MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE OFFWING L)
(a) Install access panel 151KW.
(6) FOR [7505MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE OFFWING R)
(a) Install access panel 152KW.
(7) Set aft cargo-compartment light-switch 8LU to the off position.
(8) Remove the access platform(s).
(9) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(10) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 25-62-42-410-051-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(a) Install access panel 151KW.
(6) FOR [7505MM] (ESCAPE SLIDE OFFWING R)
(a) Install access panel 152KW.
(7) Set aft cargo-compartment light-switch 8LU to the off position.
(8) Remove the access platform(s).
(9) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(10) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) In the cockpit:
(a) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever.
(b) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Do the special precautions after you worked on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 25-62-42-862-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) In the cockpit:
