Manual Loading Procedure for 60.4-Inch x 61.5-Inch Unit Load Devices (ULD) in the Lower Deck Forward Cargo-Compartment
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CAUSE ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT OF A ULD DURING THE LOADING PROCEDURE:
- USE SUFFICIENT LOADING PERSONNEL TO DO THE PROCEDURE SAFELY.
CAUTION:
IF THE COMPARTMENT IS NOT FULL AFTER THE CARGO LOADING PROCEDURE, LIFT THE LATCHES AT ALL THE EMPTY ULD POSITIONS. THIS WILL PREVENT ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT OF A ULD, IF ULD LATCHES BECOME DEFECTIVE DURING FLIGHT. ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT OF A ULD CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Open the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Set the CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT switch on the service panel to the ON position.
(5) Lower the manually operated pawls of the YZ-latches of the door-sill latches.
4. Procedure(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOADER PLATFORM AND THE AIRCRAFT DOOR SILL ARE CORRECTLY ALIGNED BEFORE YOU LOAD/UNLOAD A ULD.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT DOOR SILL AND/OR THE ULD.
(2) Put a LOADER - PLATFORM in position at the entrance to the forward cargo compartment. (3) Open the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Set the CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT switch on the service panel to the ON position.
(5) Lower the manually operated pawls of the YZ-latches of the door-sill latches.
Subtask 25-52-00-913-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Prepare to move 60.4-inch x 61.5-inch ULDs into the lower-deck forward cargo-compartment
(1) Put the manually operated components of the CLS in their correct positions for the loading of 60.4-inch x 61.5-inch ULDs (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-00-913-001).
(2) Lower all the latches installed on the cargo compartment floor.
Subtask 25-52-00-913-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the manually operated components of the CLS in their correct positions for the loading of 60.4-inch x 61.5-inch ULDs (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-00-913-001).
(2) Lower all the latches installed on the cargo compartment floor.
B. Manual Loading Procedure for the Positions 11 thru 12 and 21 thru 23
(1) Manually move each ULD into the aircraft to its load position and lock it.
(a) To lock the ULD in the load positions 12 and 21 thru 23, lift the pawls of the XZ-latches installed forward of the ULD in its loaded position.
(b) To lock the ULD in the load position 11, lift the pawls of the YZ-latches of the door-sill latches.
(2) Make sure that the pawls of the XZ-latches installed in position 11, forward and aft of the ULD, stay lifted and above the edge of the ULD floor.
5. Close-up(1) Manually move each ULD into the aircraft to its load position and lock it.
(a) To lock the ULD in the load positions 12 and 21 thru 23, lift the pawls of the XZ-latches installed forward of the ULD in its loaded position.
(b) To lock the ULD in the load position 11, lift the pawls of the YZ-latches of the door-sill latches.
(2) Make sure that the pawls of the XZ-latches installed in position 11, forward and aft of the ULD, stay lifted and above the edge of the ULD floor.

A. Put the Aircraft back to its Initial Configuration
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Make sure that the pawls YZ-latches of the door-sill latches are lifted.
Subtask 25-52-00-410-082-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Make sure that the pawls YZ-latches of the door-sill latches are lifted.
B. Close Access
(1) On the service panel, set the CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT switch to the OFF position.
(2) Remove the loader platform.
(3) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
Subtask 25-52-00-862-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the service panel, set the CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT switch to the OFF position.
(2) Remove the loader platform.
(3) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
