A. Get Access
   (1) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s).
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel of the related cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.

4. Procedure

A. Preparation for the Operational Test
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (2) Lower all the latch elements of the latches which have a proximity switch below them.
   (3) Lower the YZ-latch on each door sill latch.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
   (1) Do this operational test of the proximity switches that control the longitudinal power drive units.
NOTE: The procedure for the operational tests of the proximity switches in the forward and aft cargo compartments is the same. Therefore the operational test of the proximity switches is performed in the forward cargo compartment only.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the control panel 2020VU1:
In the forward cargo compartment:
  • Set the POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to ON.
  • The POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY comes on.
  • Power is supplied to the cargo conveyance controls.
NOTE: The longitudinal PDU 15MY in the ball mat area is operated via the control panel 2020VU1 only.
2.On the control panel 2020VU1:
On the forward cargo compartment floor:
  • Push the joystick 4MY to the FWD position and hold it there.
  • The roller of each longitudinal PDU comes up and turns in the forward direction.
3.On the forward cargo compartment floor:
On the forward cargo compartment floor:
  • Lift the latch element of each latch with a proximity switch.
  • The latch element locks in the fully lifted position and activates the proximity switch.

  • At the same time the roller of each longitudinal PDU related to the proximity switch moves down and stops.
  • Lower the latch element of each latch with proximity switch.
  • The latch element lowers below the level of the roller track and activates the proximity switch.

  • At the same time the roller of each longitudinal PDU related to the proximity switch comes up and turns in the forward direction.
4.On the control panel 2020VU1:
On the forward cargo compartment floor:
  • Release the joystick 4MY so that it moves to the neutral position.
  • The roller of each longitudinal power drive units move down and stops.
  • Push the joystick 4MY to the AFT position and hold it there.
  • The roller of each longitudinal PDU comes up and turns in the aft direction.
5.On the forward cargo compartment floor:
On the forward cargo compartment floor:
  • Lift the latch element of each latch with a proximity switch.
  • The latch element locks in the fully lifted position and activates the proximity switch.

  • At the same time the roller of each longitudinal PDU related to the proximity switch moves down and stops.
  • Lower the latch element of each latch with a proximity switch.
  • The latch element lowers below the level of the roller track and activates the proximity switch.

  • At the same time the roller of each longitudinal PDU related to the proximity switch comes up and turns in the aft direction.
6.On the control panel 2020VU1:
On the forward cargo compartment floor:
  • Release the joystick 4MY so that it moves to the neutral position.
  • The roller of each longitudinal power drive unit stops.
7.On the control panel 2020VU1:
In the forward cargo compartment:
  • Set the POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to the OFF position.
  • The POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY goes off.
  • The power supply to the cargo conveyance controls is stopped.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Lift the YZ-latch on each door sill latch.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Close the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
