Subtask 25-50-00-861-062-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
Subtask 25-50-00-010-129-A
B. Get Access
   (1) Open the forward cargo-compartment door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the forward cargo-compartment door.
   (3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU to ON.
   (4) If the Cargo Loading System (CLS) is installed, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the control panel of the CLS to tell persons not to use the control panel of the CLS.
   (5) Remove the forward cargo-compartment partition from FR24A (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-11-000-001).

C. Identification of the Damaged Area(s) of the Vertical Member Assembly at FR24A
   (1) If the vertical member assembly (1) is installed, remove it from the aircraft (Ref. AMM D/O 25-54-81-00).
   (2) Examine the elongated hole and the thickness of the flange of the vertical member assembly (1) for signs of damage.
   (3) If you find signs of damage on the inner side of the elongated hole, measure the width of the elongated hole at the damaged area(s) and do these steps:
     (a) If the width of the inner side of the elongated hole at the damaged area(s) is more than 13.4 mm (0.53 in.), send a repair design approval-form to Airbus.
     (b) If the width of the inner side of the elongated hole at the damaged area(s) is 13.4 mm (0.53 in.) or less, go to Para 4.A.(1).
   (4) If you find thickness damage on the flange, measure the thickness of the flange at the damaged area(s) and do these steps:
     (a) If the thickness of the flange at the damaged area(s) is less than 3.8 mm (0.15 in.), send a repair design approval-form to Airbus.
     (b) If the thickness of the flange at the damaged area(s) is 3.8 mm (0.15 in.) or more, go to Para 4.B.(1).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-50-00-350-060-A
A. Repair of the Damage on the Elongated Hole
   (1) Do a repair of the damaged area(s) on the elongated hole of the vertical member assembly (1) as follows:
     (a) Use the BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT and remove the dirt from the surface of the vertical member assembly (1).
     (b) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and clean the damaged area(s).
     (c) Make sure that the damaged area(s) is (are) dry.
     (d) Carefully polish the damaged area(s) and make sure that the width of the elongated hole is 13.4 mm (0.53 in.) or less SRM 517300.
     (e) Do a High Frequency Eddy Current (HFEC) inspection around the damaged area(s) of the elongated hole NTM 511008. This is to make sure that there is no crack on the elongated hole.
     (f) Put the surface protection on the flange of the vertical member assembly (1) SRM 512111.

B. Repair of the Thickness Damage on the Flange
   (1) Do a repair of the thickness damage on the flange of the vertical member assembly (1) as follows:
     (a) Use the BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT and remove the dirt from the surface of the vertical member assembly (1).
     (b) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) or Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and clean the damaged area(s).
     (c) Make sure that the damaged area(s) is (are) dry.
     (d) Carefully polish the damaged area(s) and make sure that the thickness of the flange is 3.8 mm (0.15 in.) or more SRM 517300.
     (e) Do an HFEC inspection around the damaged area(s) of the flange NTM 511008. This is to make sure that there is no crack on the flange.
     (f) Put the surface protection on the flange of the vertical member assembly (1) SRM 512111.
5. Close-up
Subtask 25-50-00-420-071-A
A. Installation of the Vertical Member Assembly of the Forward Cargo Compartment at FR24A
   (1) When you install the vertical member assembly (1), make sure that you use new bolt, washer, guide and nut on the flange of the vertical member assembly (1).
   (2) Install the vertical member assembly (1) (Ref. AMM D/O 25-54-81-40).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the forward cargo-compartment partition at FR24A (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-11-400-001).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU to OFF.
   (5) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (6) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
