A. This procedure is only applicable, if an electrically operated Cargo Loading System (CLS) is installed (as a result of an Airbus modification)

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the forward and aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo compartment-door(s).
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel(s) of the cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.

4. Procedure
Subtask 25-50-00-210-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Detailed Inspection of the XZ-Single Latch 32
   (1) Examine each XZ-single latch 32 and the adjacent area for cracks, corrosion and other damage.
   (2) Make sure that each XZ-single latch 32 is correctly attached.
   (3) Lift the latching element on each XZ-single latch 32 to make sure that each latching element locks in the lifted position.
   (4) Examine the tension springs of each XZ-single latch 32 for corrosion and other damage.
   (5) Make sure that the tension springs of each XZ-single latch 32 are correctly attached.
   (6) Lift and lower the latching element on each XZ-single latch 32 to make sure that it moves freely.
   (7) Examine the proximity switch below each XZ-single latch 32.
     (a) Make sure that the switch zone of the proximity switch is clean and clear of unwanted material.

B. Preparation for the Operational Test
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Lower the manual YZ-latch on each door sill latch of the forward and/or aft cargo compartment. Power is available on control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

  • Lift the latch element of each XZ-single latch 32.
  • Each latch element locks in the lifted position.
NOTE: The XZ-single latches 32 do not operate the longitudinal Power Drive Unit (PDU) in the ball mat area.
3.On control panel 2020VU1:
On the cargo compartment floor:
  • Push joystick 4MY to the FWD position and hold it.
  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latches 32 does not operate.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area operates in the forward direction.
  • Release joystick 4MY.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area stops.
  • Push joystick 4MY to the AFT position and hold it.
  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latches 32 does not operate.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area operates in the aft direction.
  • Release joystick 4MY.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area stops.
4.On the cargo compartment floor:
On the cargo compartment floor:
  • Lower the lifted latch element of the XZ-single latch 32 between the FR35.1 and FR.35.2.
  • The latch element lowers below the level of the roller track.

  • Push joystick 4MY to the FWD position and hold it.
  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latch 32 with the lowered latch element operates in the forward direction.
  • The PDU in the ball mat area operates in the forward direction.
  • Release joystick 4MY.
  • The PDU stop.
  • Push joystick 4MY to the AFT position and hold it.
  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latch 32 with the lowered latch element operates in the aft direction.
  • The PDU in the ball mat area operates in the aft direction.
  • Release joystick 4MY.
  • The PDU stops.
6.On the cargo compartment floor:
On the cargo compartment floor:
  • Lift the latch element of the XZ-single latch 32 between the FR35.1 and the FR35.2.
  • The latch element locks in the lifted position and the power supply to the related PDU is stopped.
7.Do the steps 4 thru 6 again for the XZ-single latch 32 between the FR33 and the FR34.

8.Do the steps 4 thru 6 again for the XZ-single latch 32 between the FR30 and the FR31.

9.Do the steps 4 thru 6 again for the XZ-single latch 32 at the FR28.

10.On control panel 2020VU1:

  • Set POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to OFF.
  • POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY goes off.
  • The power supply to the cargo loading system is stopped.
11.On the door sill:

  • Lift the manual YZ-latch on each door sill latch.
  • The power supply to control panel 2020VU1 is stopped.

  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latch 32 with the lowered latch element operates in the FWD direction.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area operates in the forward direction.

  • Push joystick 4MY to the AFT position and hold it.
  • The PDU related to the XZ-single latch 32 with the lowered latch element operates in the aft direction.
  • The longitudinal PDU in the ball mat area operates in the aft direction.

9.Do the steps 4 thru 6 again for the XZ-single latch 32 at the FR56.

  • Set POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to OFF.
  • POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY goes off.
  • The power supply to the cargo loading system is stopped.
11.On the door sill:
In the cargo compartment:
  • Lift the manual YZ-latch on each door sill latch.
  • The power supply to control panel 2020VU2 is stopped.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the forward and/or aft cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
