A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the avionics compartment door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002) is open.
   (3) Make sure that the STEPLADDER 2.0 M (6.6 FT) is in position.

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Control Unit 60DS, 66DS.
F Control Unit 60DS, 66DS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The procedure for the control units are the same.
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Carefully move the control unit (6) on the adapter assembly (7).
NOTE: Make sure that the locking catch (5) holds the control unit (6) in position.
   (5) Connect the Electrical Connections:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SPRING LATCHES CORRECTLY HOLD THE CONNECTOR IN THE FULLY ENGAGED POSITION. THE SPRING LATCHES PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE CONNECTOR, AND THUS THE RISK OF ARCING, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE UNIT.
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (1) with the spring latches (3).
     (d) Connect the electrical connector (2) with the screws (4).
       1 TORQUE the screws (4) to between 8.8 and 5.3 lbf.in (0.10 and 0.06 m.daN ) T.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close access to the avionics compartment:
     (a) Close the avionics compartment door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
     (b) Remove the STEPLADDER 2.0 M (6.6 FT).

B. De-energize the ground service network
