1. Reason for the Job
This procedure tells you how to manually isolate a defective HFP.
To do this procedure, refer to the FAA Reference: MMEL TASK: 252701 - Heating Function of HFPs (Passenger/Crew Doors, Emergency Exits and Galley Areas) (FAA only).
NOTE: This deactivation task is not related to an AFM-CDL/MMEL item for all aircraft under EASA or CAAC regulation.

B. Deactivation of the HFP at Door 1
   (1) Remove the related fuse from the applicable control unit:
  • HFP 30DS (RH-A) / Control Unit 66DS - Heater 1
  • HFP 31DS (LH-A) / Control Unit 60DS - Heater 1
  • HFP 32DS (RH-B) / Control Unit 66DS - Heater 2
  • HFP 33DS (LH-B) / Control Unit 60DS - Heater 2.
   (2) Install a blanking cap on the related fuse socket.
   (3) Install a grey Inoperative (INOP) label adjacent to the related LED light/fuse on the control unit.
   (4) Make an entry in the logbook that the related HFP is isolated.

C. Deactivation of the HFP at the Emergency Exit Doors
   (1) Remove the related fuse from the applicable control unit:
     (a) For Door 2 Area:
  • HFP 5DS (LH) / Control Unit 4DS - Heater 1
  • HFP 6DS (RH) / Control Unit 4DS - Heater 2.
     (b) For Door 3 Area:
  • HFP 15DS (LH) / Control Unit 14DS - Heater 1
  • HFP 16DS (RH) / Control Unit 14DS - Heater 2.
   (2) Install a blanking cap on the related fuse socket.
   (3) Install a grey Inoperative (INOP) label adjacent to the related LED light/fuse on the control unit.
   (4) Make an entry in the logbook that the related HFP is isolated.
