A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the stowage compartment of the seat is empty.
4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Restraint System - Bench CAS
F Restraint System ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) For model 2131:
     (a) Install the lap belt fittings (11), restraint system assy (8), washers (10) and bolts (9).
NOTE: Install the restraint system assy (8) in the correct position.
     (b) Tighten the bolts (9).
     (c) Hold the inertia reel(s) (7) in position and install the bushings (6) and the screws (5).
     (d) Tighten the screws (5).
   (3) For model 2431:
     (a) Install the lap belt fittings (12), restraint system assy (13) with pivot clips (14) and bolts (15).
     (b) Tighten the bolts (15).
     (c) Hold the inertia reel(s) (16) in position and install the screws (17) and the nuts (19).
     (d) Tighten the screws (17).
     (e) Hold the strap beam (20) in position and install the screws (18).
     (f) Tighten the screws (18).
   (4) Install the cover (3) and the screws (4).
   (5) Install the backrest cushions (1).
NOTE: The burr strips attach the cushions to the seat structure.
   (6) Remove the weight from the seat pan (2) and put it in the close position.

C. Installation of the Restraint System
F Restraint System ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Put the restraint system assembly (8) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the restraint system assembly (8) is not twisted.
   (3) Install the strap guides (7) and the screws (6).
   (4) Install the inertia reels (11), the washers (9) and the screws (10).
   (5) TORQUE the screws (10) to between 100 and 60 lbf.in (1.13 and 0.68 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Make sure that the labels on the lap belts (that give the part number information) point to the backrest of the seat.
   (7) Engage the restraint system assembly (8) and install the spacers (12) and the bolts (13).
   (8) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 158 and 105 lbf.in (1.79 and 1.19 m.daN )
T.
   (9) Put the headrest (1) in position and install the washers (3) and the screws (4).
   (10) TORQUE the screws (4) to between 158 and 104 lbf.in (1.79 and 1.18 m.daN )
T.
   (11) If you removed the handset/cradle, install it (
Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-44-400-001).
   (12) Install the backrest cushions (2).
NOTE: The backrest cushions (2) are attached to the seat structure with burr strips.
   (13) Remove the weight from the seat pan (5) and put it in the closed position.

  • Pull the shoulder part of the restraint system with a sudden movement.
  • The shoulder part must lock.
  • Pull the shoulder part of the restraint system and release it.
  • The shoulder part must move freely onto the inertia rail.
  • Put the fastener into the buckle.
  • You must hear a clicking sound.
