Removal of the Battery Line Contactor
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT NO AC OR DC POWER IS CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTROCUTION IF THE AC OR DC POWER STAYS CONNECTED.

Subtask 24-38-55-010-050-B
A. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the avionics compartment doors 812 and 822.
(2) Open the avionics compartment doors 812 and 822.
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at access door 121AL.
(4) Open access door 121AL.
Subtask 24-38-55-941-050-A (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the avionics compartment doors 812 and 822.
(2) Open the avionics compartment doors 812 and 822.
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at access door 121AL.
(4) Open access door 121AL.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the external power connector is not connected to the aircraft receptacle.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on access door 121AL to tell the persons not to use the external power receptacle.
(3) In the cockpit, on the overhead ELEC panel 35VU, release these pushbutton switches:
(6) Disconnect the electrical connectors of the two batteries, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001)
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the external power connector is not connected to the aircraft receptacle.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on access door 121AL to tell the persons not to use the external power receptacle.
(3) In the cockpit, on the overhead ELEC panel 35VU, release these pushbutton switches:
- BAT 1, BAT 2
- APU GEN
- GEN 1, GEN 2
- EXT PWR.
- 21VU (EMER ELEC PWR)
- 35VU (ELEC).
(6) Disconnect the electrical connectors of the two batteries, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001)
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE CONTACTOR ONLY AND NOT THE BASE OR THE MODULE WHERE THE WIRES ARE CONNECTED.

(1) Disconnect the connector (4).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Loosen the two captive screws (2).

(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Loosen the two captive screws (2).
NOTE: Do not remove the captive screws (2) and the spring washers from the contactor (3).
(4) Disengage the contactor (3) from the base (5) and remove the contactor.
