A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the cockpit, on the EMER ELEC PWR section of the overhead panel 21VU, to tell persons not to operate the pushbutton switches.
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access doors 812 and 822 of the avionics compartment.
   (4) Make sure that the access doors 812 and 822 are open.

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure
Subtask 24-24-34-420-050-A
A. Installation of the GCU
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Put the CSM/G control unit (1) in position.
   (6) Install the washers (2) and the screws (3) and then tighten the screws.
   (7) Connect the electrical connector (4).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Operational test
   (1) Do an operational test of the emergency GCU, with the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 24-24-00-710-002).
NOTE: As an alternative procedure, do this operational test without the CFDS.
   (2) Do an operational test of the emergency GCU without the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 24-24-00-710-001).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access doors 812 and 822.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
