Installation of the GCU-APU
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT NO AC OR DC POWER IS CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
THERE IS A RISK OF DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT DURING ITS REMOVAL/ INSTALLATION IF THE AC OR DC POWER STAYS CONNECTED.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU and 35VU, make sure that these pushbutton switches are released:

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 811 of the avionics compartment.
(2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 811 of the avionics compartment.
(2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
Subtask 24-23-34-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the GCU
(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Put the GCU in position in the rack (6).
(6) Carefully push the GCU until it is connected to the rack receptacle (5).
(7) Lift the 2 knurled nuts (1) on the 2 studs (2).
(8) Tighten the 2 knurled nuts (1).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Operational Test of the GCU
(1) Do the operational check of the GPCU with the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-004).
(a) Do the procedure to energize the electrical circuits with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(b) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(c) On the ECAM control panel:
(e) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
(f) De-energize the electrical circuits supplied from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational check of the GPCU with the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-004).
NOTE: As an alternative procedure, do this operational test without the CFDS:
(2) Do an operational test of the GCU without the CFDS: (a) Do the procedure to energize the electrical circuits with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(b) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(c) On the ECAM control panel:
- push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
(e) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
(f) De-energize the electrical circuits supplied from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 811.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
