A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) On the APU section of the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the ground fire-extinguishing equipment is available.
   (5) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position below the APU compartment.
   (2) Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (3) Set the control switch 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 24-23-00-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Substitution Kit for Fight without an APU Generator Installed
   (1) Disconnect the generator control cable from the connector on the cable support assembly (5).
     (a) Remove the electrical connector (4).
     (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Temporarily attach the electrical connector (4) to the APU generator with a INSTALLATION TOOL - TIE WRAP.
   (2) Disconnect the generator supply cables (3) from the terminal block on the cable support assembly (5).
     (a) Remove the nut (17), washer (16), screw (12), washer (13), clamp (14) and spacer (15) from the generator cable support (5).
     (b) Remove the nuts (2) and disconnect the generator supply cables (3).
     (c) Temporarily install the nuts (2) on the studs of the terminal block on the cable support assembly (5).
     (d) Put CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC on the ring terminals of the disconnected generator supply cables (3).
     (e) Temporarily attach the generator supply cables (3) with a tie-wrap to put it in stowage position in the APU compartment.
   (3) Drain the remaining oil from the assembly cover (11).
     (a) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) in position below the generator pad (10).
     (b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the drain plug (6).
     (c) Remove the drain plug (6) and let the residual oil drain fully.
     (d) Tighten the drain plug (6) and safety it with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Remove the cable support assembly (5) and the assembly cover (11).
     (a) Hold the cable support assembly (5) and the assembly cover (11) in the correct position.
     (b) Remove and keep the nuts (1).
     (c) Remove the cable support assembly (5) and the assembly cover (11).
   (5) Remove the seal plate (4095KM) (7).
     (a) Remove the seal (9).
     (b) Remove the screws (8) and the seal plate (4095KM) (7).
     (c) Remove the container.
   (6) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (7) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (8) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (9) Install the APU generator (Ref. AMM TASK 24-23-51-400-001).
5. Close-up

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set control switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
   (3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
