A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the pushbutton switches (ENG MASTER 1(2)) on the pylon panel 115VU (ENG panel).

C. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 811.
   (2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the GCU
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Put the GCU in position in the rack (6).
   (6) Carefully push the GCU until it is connected to the rack receptacle (5).
   (7) Lift the 2 knurled nuts (1) on the 2 studs (2).
   (8) Tighten the 2 knurled nuts (1).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Start the engine 1(2) automatically (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel:
  • push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
   (4) On the lower ECAM display unit, make sure that there is the green line between GEN1(2) and AC1(2).
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
   (6) Stop the engine 1 (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).

D. Operational test of the GAPCU without the CFDS.
   (1) Start the engine 1(2) automatically (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-043).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel:
  • push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
   (4) On the lower ECAM display unit, make sure that there is the green line between GEN1(2) and AC1(2).
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
   (6) Stop the engine 1(2) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-018).

D. Operational test of the GAPCU without the CFDS
   (1) Start the engine 1(2) automatically (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel:
  • push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
   (4) On the lower ECAM display unit, make sure that there is the green line between GEN1(2) and AC1(2).
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure

   (6) Stop the engine 1(2) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).

D. Operational test of the GAPCU without the CFDS
   (1) Start engine 1(2) (normal automatic start) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
   (4) On the lower ECAM DU, make sure that there is the green line between the GEN1(2) and AC1(2) indications is shown.
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (6) Stop engine 1(2) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-814).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 811.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network
